Hey, don’t knock Ditka, guys. He’s just a guy who thought the Oklahoma City bombings were reasonable. And he kind of wants to join an insurgency that would get to kill liberals. And he’s ABSOLUTELY SURE that his side would utterly slaughter the liberals if they ever fought it out. And he really, really loves to talk about the logistics and strategy of ‘hypothetically’ killing liberals.
Certainly nothing worth criticizing there, right?
This thread has changed my opinion, not that I had one going in. If Velocity (or anyone) keeps making topics about hypothetical events involving killing, even if everyone else grows tired of participating in them, HurricaneDitka never will. I’m convinced.
No surprise to see that most bloodthirsty (and cowardly) of Dopers, HurricaneDitka, all overg this thread about what would make Dopers take violent action:

Do you often fantasize about other Dopers ‘hooking up’ together? Have you explored why? There’s nothing wrong with such fantasies, of course, as long as one keeps them private or only shares them with consenting adults.
I don’t follow – are you saying that I am psychologically projecting my desire to harm liberals onto HD? Or something else? Do you have a cite about something I’ve posted that would make you feel this way?

What are you saying ‘No’ to here? There’s like 5 or 6 questions in iiandyiiii’s post.
Also, this is not sealioning nor manipulation. It’s an effective way to respond to insults.
For instance:
“You’re a jerk!”
“Well, I don’t think I’m a jerk, but thanks for letting me know your thoughts on me. Any ideas on how I can be less of a jerk in your eyes?”
See? It’s great.
Effective how? It’s obviously absurd.
Absurd can be effective. As far as I can tell, he is honestly interested in opinions of people like that.
I do that, even though I don’t actually care what posters think about me, because it’s a way to mock people who insult you. The insulters usually don’t actually care about carrying on a conversation about their insult, they just go away. And I get to laugh
Criticism and even insults can be a great opportunity for self improvement! I want to be a better person, and I think folks who interact with me for giving me that opportunity. 
And yes, I’m very interested in the views of folks who disagree with me – even those who really, really disagree with me, and even dislike me. I want to know all about their thoughts, since there’s the most opportunity to learn from those who think very differently from me. IMO, of course.

Yeah…you’ve pretty well perfected this shtick. All you want is to be a better person in a better world. Can you point us to a post of yours where, funnily enough, you were the asshole and the whole farrago ended with you having to change for the better?
