Sorry for a technical question, but I’ve tried searching through help menus and google for this with no luck.
I’m having issues when downloading attachments from web email accounts - hotmail and yahoo - when using IE6. If I choose ‘open’ when presented with options for downloading, it will download the file, open the appropriate program (eg Word or Excel), and then have an error that the file (held in a sub-folder of Temporary Internet Files) cannot be found.
There is no problem if I choose the ‘save to disk’ option, and then open it. Also, there is no problem when I try the ‘open’ option using Firefox. Is there a setting in IE that needs changing, or is the problem terminal (heh heh heh)?
I have just been doing the ‘save’ then open from disk method, but there are people using this computer who have very limited computer knowhow, and don’t do well when forced to add steps to straightforward procedures like opening attachments, and important documents are getting overlooked/lost.
