Dr. Spock's Children - Any Commit Suicide?

Dr. Benjamin Spock - the famous pediatrician and baby-care author - died in 1998.

My question is: Did any of his children ever commit suicide?
There is a diatribe, ascribed to the Rev. Billy Graham’s daughter, circulating via email stating one did. I don’t
believe it, it sounds like sophistry to me. The entire schmear can be viewed at:

Thanks for your time. I know better than to argue with religious nuts, but this one got to me. What a load of bullshit!

I don’t think either of his two sons did, but one of his grandsons did.

RiverRunner: Do you have a cite for that?

[slight detour, not really a hijack]

Anne Graham Lotz did not say everything in that email. Her part ends at the conclusion of the first paragraph.

What she DID say

His grandson Peter committed suicide, according to this New York Times book review, http://www.nytimes.com/books/98/05/17/reviews/980517.17bolotit.html

Thanks, bibliophage. I should have included my cite in my original post, but I forgot.

And thanks, too, to Mars Horizon. This whole thing sounds like another “Falwell said the purple Teletubby is gay” deal.

Ah, but wait! If you read the interview Mars Horizon so thoughtfully provided, you’ll find the “email version” posted on my site does not include anything she actually said, as chronicled by The Early Show Site. The thing was fabricated from whole cloth.

I rest my case. Thanks for all the legwork, folks. Once again, The Straight Dope comes through.

Y’know, I just thought of something. When Anne Graham married that guy, didn’t she become Lotz’ wife?
