So last night I dreamed I was watching a Dharma & Greg revival called Dharma at Law. Dharma had just become a lawyer and decided to open a pro bono legal clinic. It seemed like she and Greg separated or divorced because she moved into the office building where her law office was with her kids. Teenage twins; the boy was a hippie and the girl was like a teenage version of Kitty. Any else have spin-off, reboot, etc ideas that came to them in dreams they wanna share?
Many years ago, I came up with a spin-off of Hogan’s Heroes called Koncentration Kommandant. I’ll leave the details to your imagination.
I had a whole evening schedule planned, including USS Susan B Anthony, the stirring saga of the first US Navy vessel crewed entirely by women; Me and Julio, a “family-oriented” sitcom set in the Los Angeles ghetto; Chinaman’s Chance, a “family-oriented” sitcom set in San Francisco; My Baby Now, with nurses in a maternity ward running a hot baby racket; and Inuit Eye, a ripoff of Hawaii Five-O set in Alaska (the 49th state).
Even in their capsule descriptions, my shows sounded a lot better than the crap that was already on the air in the '70s.
Didn’t much enjoy Blossom, but had a huge crush on Jenna Von Oy so I’d love to see her on TV again.
I used to host a podcast called “Burn After Pitching” where people pitched idea on differennt topics. This topic was one episode. I think I pitched a prequel series to “Shrill” with Aidy Bryant, focusing on John Cameron Mitchell’s character coming up as music journalist in 90s Portland–where a loud, gay man could also be referred to as “shrill” for voicing their opinions.
For revivals, Small Wonder…a sitcom about a home scientist who builds a robot little girl as a companion to his son. I think it would interesting to see a well-into middle-aged son of the inventor, struggle to keep his eternally 9 year old robot sister working.
Still hoping that they will do at least a Coupling reunion special.
Giggle loop.
