Droid to Eudora email garbled

My ex has a Droid and he sometimes sends me email from it using his Gmail account. (I use my ISP’s email account.)

About half the time, I have the following problem:

When I read his email using Firefox browser, it looks fine. When I download it into my PC using Eudora (7.1.0.9) and Windows 7 (64-bit), it looks garbled, like this:

Why does this happen and how can we avoid this occurring? Why does it happen only half the time and not all the time?

My ex is barely computer literate so it can’t involve him doing anything complicated on his Droid. He ha brought his Droid to whereever he got it and had it looked at and presumably it’s ok.

Oops, I should have Googled first. It is a known problem with Droid email headers.

Does anyone know whether the new Beta Eudora behaves the same way?

There is no “new Beta Eudora”.

Eudora as we know and love it is deader than Elvis unless QualComm changed their mind & didn’t tell anyone.

There is an abominable piece of garbage in existence that is not Eudora but is instead based on Thunderbird and which has a kinda-sorta Eudora-ish skin stuck on it, codenamed “Penelope” (detractors dubbed it “Pandora”). They were allowed to call this frankenprogram “Eudora 8”, which thorougly pisses me off.
