Tom Holland and Zendaya are married.
They both have prominent roles in The Odyssey, which is currently in theaters. And they both have prominent roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will be starting its theatrical run next week.
Has there ever before been a married couple who have appeared together in two separate movies in theaters at the same time?
George Burns and Gracie Allen probably did, though I haven’t dug through their filmographies to see if they had any that were out at the same time.
With all of the actors who have produced/directed their own films, and all of the producers/directors who have cast their spouses, it’s probably not too rare.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez released Gigli (Aug 2003) and Jersey Girl (Mar 2004) not that far apart. Weren’t actually married until decades later though.

The obvious contenders are the two 1934 movies. But I haven’t been able to confirm that Six of a Kind stayed in theaters for eleven weeks until We’re Not Dressing was released. (I did find that Six of a Kind was one of the first studio movies that was made to be part of a double feature, which might have extended its theatrical run.)
No Gigli bombed in theaters and its theatrical run only lasted three weeks.
It’s hard for even one person to appear in two separate movies in the same year. I remember Sandra Bullock being in “Gravity” and another movie within one calendar year, but that was quite a while back.
Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis, though not married at the time (but linked romantically), were in Transylvania 6-5000 and The Fly, both 1985. And in Earth Girls are Easy three years later
Chris Pratt was not just in, but the star of, both of the two highest-grossing movies of 2014 (The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy).

I just checked. Transylvania 6-5000 was released on November 8, 1985 and its five-week theatrical run was over by when The Fly was released on August 15, 1986.

They did a lot of films together and might have an overlap.
I’d rather see an example of a married couple but I don’t have a problem is people want to offer examples of a non-married couple. (As long as they’re not just two actors who performed together.)
First that came to mind were Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh:

Maybe Dead Again (1991), Peter’s Friends (1992), Much Ado About Nothing (1993)
That production of Look Back in Anger was a television broadcast and as far as I can tell, it never had a theatrical run.

Paul Newman/Joanne Woodward: The Long, Hot Summer and Rally ‘Round the Flag, Boys. IMDb has them both listed as 1958, but the release dates are eight months apart.
It occurs to me that looking for stars might be a mistake. It’s probably easier for supporting actors to be in multiple movies out at the same time.
Newman was still married to Jackie Witte when he and Woodward made The Long, Hot Summer.
Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor were both in Cleopatra and The VIPs in 1963, and in The Taming of the Shrew and Doctor Faustus and The Comedians in 1967, and in a bunch of other movies, as well, but not in the same years.
