DubDope2000: The Hags with the Bags

You mean we have to think that far ahead already? I’ll probably just end up sleeping on the floor of the nearest bus stop–it’s what my Welsh mates did on their last sojourn to Dublin.

OK–next stop, Blackwell’s Travel Bookshop…

The Odeon is a class pub.

It used to be a railway station and one really large room broken up with pillers . The seating is really comfortable . I used to live about a minute away from it until I moved out to the 'burbs to be closer to work .
I really hope Laura (tell Laura I love her) is working [sup]*****[/sup]
Stephens Green is a 5min walk away .

Coldfire is staying with me so he’ll be cabbing it.

[sup]*****[/sup] I don’t know Laura , I just worship her from afar .

I’m staying near the Botanic Gardens. Aparently this is one mile from the city center, whatever that means.

My spare bed and sofa are taken, otherwise you could all just stay at mines

Odeon it is, then?

Hell, as long as there’s booze and great craic, anything goes!

Duke I’ve got a couch and a roll out Thai bed . Both are pretty comfortable so if you want to arm wrestle Coldfire your welcome to stay at mine .

Clog Boy has dibs on the couch

Don’t know why you’d need it . Do you ever sleep ?

I work nights every 2[sup]nd[/sup] month , whats your excuse ?

Insomnia. Well, not really. Fell asleep on the couch after dinner and Top Gear (which I taped), at about 22:00. Woke up at 3:00. Thought I’d check the boards and then sleep. It’s 5:35 now. Plan failed so far

If S. Norman comes, I think he’ll be staying at the same hostel as me & GlobeGirl.

The Odeon sounds perfect. What time are we planning on meeting up? Will everybody be able to have dinner together or should we make our own plans? Coldfire won’t be arriving with my Stroopwafels until 9ish so I’ll need something to tide me over. If we won’t be eating together, does anybody want to have dinner with a stray tatertot?

Tater, my buddy and I can entertain you for dinner on the Thursday, no problem.

Hopefully it won’t be too traumatic.

We could get something to eat at about 7.30 that then on to the odeon, It is nice and roomy, although it does get a little packed. I’ll be finished work at 5 and will be available to meet with whoever wants to eat from about 7 onwards.

Yay! I don’t have to eat by myself…I hate eating alone. Shall we leave it up to ToF to choose a restaurant? Can we have black pudding? Rather, will somebody else order black pudding so I can have a bite? I’m sure I won’t like it but it seems wimpy to leave Ireland without trying it.

I am so excited!!!

By the way Tater, were you able to change your reservations at the hostel?

I’ll tell yous guys what. I’ll bring a pack of stroopwafels for EVERYONE. Howsat?

So you want to get a fry up?

Yup, I’ve got a bed all the way through Sunday. I think it will be interesting to sleep with 11 strangers for 3 nights. Heck, I might prefer them to y’all.

And Coldfire, when you say that you’ll bring enough stroopwafels for everyone that doesn’t mean that there will be less for me, does it?

(Actually, we’ll be having genuine Dutch people wearing geniune weird Dutch hats selling Stroopwafels by the case here in November. Pepper Gouda, too. Mmmmmm, it just seems to taste better when you get it from somebody in a goofy hat. Will you be wearing your hat, Coldie?)

A fry-up sounds good, TOFfie. Also, you’ve got to take me to a grocery store so I can get Jammy Dodgers and Ambrosia.

Ooh Ahhh it’s Am-bro-see-ah, Ooh Ahhh it’s Am-bro-see-ah…

Yeah, well, you talked me into it.

I’ve hocked some family heirlooms and am trying to figure out how to order a flight ticket in German. I’ve booked the same hostel as tater & Globe-trotter - at least I know how to make reservations in English.

Right, time to grab a flight ticket - unfortunately, it looks as if the affordable flight out of Hamburg arrive in Dublin at 20:30, but I’ll keep looking.

See you all there, now get of my back and let me get some work done!!

Supercool, Norman! Too bad you can’t bring the Ducati

Tater: the only hat I will be bringing is an original Murphys Irish Stout baseball cap. Will that do?
And I probably better not wear it in downtown Dublin - Guinness territory

Well, you’re at least going to wear your clogs, aren’t you?

S. Norman, I’m so glad you’re coming!!! You’re going to do the tourist thing with us, too, aren’t you? I promise not to chicken out of any high towers this time.

Coldie, what time are you arriving? Maybe y’all could meet up at the airport and come to the meeting together?
