You know, Tatertot has a remarkable gift of virtually batting her eyelids and making puppy dog eyes, and getting people to jump through hoops. :wink:
Let me get to the point.

This October, we are going to have several people in Dublin, Tatertot (yay!), BurnMeUp (yay!), and the usual suspects who live here.

So I suggested a great big hullabaloo, and invite everyone. I then realised that Tater had subliminally planted this thought into my head using codewords such as “sweater” and “Huggles”.

So, How about it? Its long enough notice to book holidays, save money and get in training.

So, we want all you Johnny Foreigners to come over. Coldfire may very well be there! If we can get Spiny Norman to come over, maybe Shayna will too! You can meet Ruadh, Yojimbo, Hibernicus (where is he, anyway?? )Plenty of others and myself!!

So, London_Calling, Kferr, RickQ, Casdave, MattK, messiah, TomH and all the other BritDopers. Start planning! Fierra! I really want you to come! And Bring Una! She has no Idea how much we love her on this side of the Pond!!

I’m interested. I’ve always wanted to see Dublin.

If we can arrange dates early enough I can book some holiday – it’ll be the busy season at work here.

And I’m only coming if there’s drinking involved.

In theory, no problem and it sounds great. Also, flights are at their absolute cheapest from mid-ish October (IIRC)should people want to come from further afield.

Wasn’t Hibernicus getting married ?

Anything interesting happening in Dublin around then that we could tie in (sporting…concerts…) ?

Pencil me in for a stool at the bar (but enough of my toilet habits).

Its my birthday on the 8th. We could all celebrate that.

I should be coming out the first week of October… It’s a work related trip so I hope to god the product doesn’t slip.

I hope to know more in the coming weeks.

I’d love to come over and have a bit of a dopefest with you all. Let me know that dates when it is sorted and I’ll see what I can do.

I’m going to be in Dublin for a couple of days in August too, the last couple of days, IIRC. If anyone is interested in meeting up for a warmup session then too.

Its too early to finalise dates, but I think around the first week sounds like the time when most people would be free.

I’m not sure what day I’ll be arriving in Dublin for good, but the sooner the better, so pencil me and Paul in.

Early October is gonna be hard for me, as I already have two other foreign (read: rather expensive) trips lined up for the fall. But how’s the Emerald Isle in winter? I’m DEFINATELY coming over as soon as possible after Tracy sets foot there. Plus, I wouldn’t mind downing some of the black stuff with the usual suspects either!

The best weekends for me to come over in October are the first and third (5/6/7 and 19/20/21 respectively). Anyone else got any thoughts on those?

As for August, I checked what the plans are. I will be in Dublin from Wednesday 29th, from about 3pm onwards until about noon on Friday 31st. We are staying slap bang in the centre on Lower Gardiner Street. So if you are all up for a warmup session, maybe Wednesday night (and maybe something Thursday too) stand up and be counted <g> :smiley:

I probably can’t do 5/6/7 October (I’m teaching for the first time – telling graduates in Bristol how to use Excel, for some unknown reason), but if that’s more convenient for everyone else fine – please don’t plan around when I can make it.

It may be too soon after my 4 week vacation and the time off for this wrist surgery, but I’ll start butt kissing the boss as soon as I return to work next Monday.

It sounds like a great time and I would really like to be there. If not, please have an instant replay at a later date? Purdy please?

How bout we just have one a month starting in October until everyone’s been down? You know how I hate partying and having fun, but for the sake of making everyone feel included I’ll do it. Damn, I’m noble. :smiley:

Oh yes, and everyone who went to A’dam without me owes me two drinks. I’m still all sorts of disappointed over that one.

Jasper, winter is great – I’ll probably be flying down to Germany every third weekend or so, but it’s flexible. Goody Goody!! (Oh, and I should find out about A’dam this weekend, I’ll call you. Yay!!)

Hmm. I’m planning (with the kabbess) to take a month’s unpaid leave 14th Sept to 14th Oct, buy a VW camper van and go driving across Europe. I still can’t figure out whether doing this makes my attendence more or less likely.

Fran – if you want one that badly it can be arranged, I’m sure. Another poster ( mrblue92 ? ) is visiting the UK, IIRC, in September, and if I’m around I’ll show him a couple of the sights (I live in London).
