I might happen to crash your party if I happen to be in town, but I have to see. So many things on over the next few weeks. (I owe some people a few drinks so I know I’ll have to get my ass down ther sometime soon).

Re: the question of the size of the tables at the Gotham Cafe.
Hrm. Excellent question. I shall ring them (I have the number) and see if they can do a 7pm seating for a dozen people. I’m not sure if they take reservations for that many people. I’ll post their response.
Maybe we should start considering alternative venues?
We don’t necessarily have to go to Kehoes either. I just suggested it because I’ve staggered there before from Gotham.
All other suggestions are welcome.
Meanwhile, …what about this rain?!? I was all ready for summer this week and even wore shorts (EEP!) yesterday.

I don’t think Gotham City take reservations. They used not in any case. The deal was that you dropped in and if they hadn’t a table for you, you went to Kehoe’s and they came and got you when a table became free. If that’s still the case, we’re screwed because they’ll never have space for 12 coming free all at once.
Hopefully, they’ve changed their way of doing things.
That deli places on Georges Street? SoSueMe is across the road which while not the best pub in the world does have seats on most Fridays up to about 9pm?

Same problem with Café Bar Deli - it’s no-booking, sit around and wait for a table, and with that many people it’d probably be a long time.
Ah Dublin on a quiet Friday evening.
I’ll ask Mrs. micilin tonight. She knows about every place in Dublin to chow down.
At 7pm, there would be some decent early bird deals going. For example, Tante Zoe’s would be as good as GC at around the same price and there would be no problem booking a table. It’s near SoSueMe as well. The only drawback is that we’d be thrown out of the restaurant fairly sharpish before the paying customers arrive and 7pm is getting towards the end of the early bird window.

So what are we, singing for our supper?
I rang TGC and they don’t do reservations for more than 6 because they cannot guarantee they’d have all the food out at the same time, as their kitchen is tiny.
So, that’s about the only place I know of. We’ll have to go to plan B or C. I’m hoping to get a bus before 3pm, which would bring me into Dublin by 6:30 (hopefully!)…hrm…maybe I should rethink that in case there is a lot of traffic. I’ll see if I can take off early that day and get a bus by 2pm, which would avoid even more traffic (one hopes!).
I booked into Avalon House, in case I decide not to fall into the door at my friends house in the middle of the night, so if you need me, that’s where I’ll be. Hopefully, I’ll have time to drop off my gear there before heading out.
If anyone can make the booking for 12, that would be great!
Eek! John tells me the last time he went to Dublin on bus on a Friday it took 5 hours!!! There was an accident on the road and they were stuck.
Maybe I should get someone’s mobile phone number, in case I get stuck in traffic and need to catch up. Do you think they’d mind if I had my wine on the bus? Just so I don’t fall too far behind.
Isn’t there a train around 3.00 that gets in around 6.00? You’d have to get in from Heuston but there’s less chance of delays.
Not exactly but being forcibly removed by a certain time goes with the early bird territory.
I want to go…but I work til nine on friday nights…so I cant be there for any kinda reasonable hour for eating…I will meet with you all later though.
