Duct tape floats - spinning and weaving - turkey legs - a State Fair MMP

Nope, just some cloud cover. Actually, the sun is trying to break out here now.

Cinny, I think we don’t live too far apart if you’re just SE of Puyallup. I’m on South Hill.

I need to drag out the steam cleaner and I really should, but I’m finding it hard to become motivated.

Dipsey is mine! All the paperwork is signed, and money has changed hands. He will get neutered and chipped tomorrow morning, and I can pick him up tomorrow night!

Actually, I’m not “just” SE of Puyallup. I’m in Lewis County. About 120 miles from Seattle.

And the sun is trying to make an appearance here now - kind of in and out of the clouds, tho.’ I’m not really looking forward to mid-90’s this weekend. 80 - 85, depending on the humidity, is about my comfort level.

Well, yes. That is just a bit farther than I thought, Cinebar.

I should get my butt in gear and do something now.

**rebo, **that is good news! I’ll feel better, though, when Dipsey is firmly ensconced at your house!

YAY!

Sure was! How you doin’ Puggy?

Why? What have you heard?

Oh! Happy Anniversity!

Rebo YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! I’m so happy for Dipsey and you!

Ok, this is makin’ me get those I want a doggy feelin’s again. I need a MOOOOOOM or Taters dog poop on the carpet story quick!

Can’t help you with that today, swampy!:p:)

I’ve managed to shower and will head out to the backyard in a few minutes.

Every time I see the title of this thread I read “duct tape floats” as a declarative sentence – as in, duct tape is a thing that floats.

I heard she’s a saint for putting up with you, is what.

Yay for rebo and dipsey! Do keep your eye out for that neighbor, though…

Sorry for your loss and the drama, Nava.

Yay for Dipsey!

Home. Tired.

Should find some food.

Back later.

I have decided what to do with the defrostin’ chicken boobs. On Thursday I am makin’ chicken divan. Haven’t made or had it in forever so make it I shall. I shall make it traditional like with the mornay sauce even. Yeah, mucho heavy and calorie laden but oh so nummy!

Y’all know mornay sauce right, as in…

Make a white sauce with cheese pour it on broccoli… that’s a mornay!

Which begs the question, what about dindin for Wednesday. I foresee blts bein’ as I have some burly butcher bacon that needs to be used up soon.

So does duct tape float?

Always glad to oblige. I got home after a freekin’ 2.5 hour commute home from Chantilly to find that Scruffy fertilized the dining room. That was after a 2+ hour commute there, including getting lost, sorta.

Believe it or not, the meeting from hell today was actually very enlightening. We were assigned to teams of people with different jobs and backgrounds to consider certain “things” - it was a real education hearing the different points of view depending upon who was discussing the “thing.” I learned a lot and I’m actually almost looking forward to going back tomorrow. Thankfully, it’s going to be a shorter day, so I won’t have quite as bad a ride home.

Yay, Rebo!! Happy Puggyversary!! {{{Nava}}} and {{{StickyBuns}}}

**Missy **- the reason we never got to Timonium was fiscal - 5 kids and a stay-at-home-mom. My folks would have needed a second mortgage to take us to the fair! My folks moved to Harford County after I’d left home, my bro lives in Timonium, one sis is near Mom, one is in East Baltimore, and one is in Linthicum. Close enough that I can see them when I want, far enough that they don’t want to come visit me! I sorta kinda lived almost in Glen Burnie for a few years - actually in Brooklyn Park. But that was '80-'82. Last time I drove thru the neighborhood there, I was so glad I’d gotten out. It really went downhill in a short time.

And on top of all the rest of the excitement, I’ve been up since 2:30 for no apparent reason. As I tossed and turned trying to fall back to sleep, I dealt with a cat who wanted to sleep right next to me, repeated leg cramps, can’t-quite-get-comfy - the usual trying to fall asleep stuff. So I’s tahred. I can has Firday??

Congratulations to Puggy**** and** PuggyHubby**!!!

Hooray for Rebo and Dipsey again!

Well, today wasn’t as bad as I expected… sort of. You may have read about my traumatic pliers injury on facebook. :dubious: :stuck_out_tongue: I was trying to use a pair of broken pliers and they bit my hand thus ending my morning of work and I was only on my second key ring of the day.

A couple of months ago I had to give up my health insurance and so today I had my initial psych evaluation with the ‘free clinic.’ No new issues, just no way to get the medicines that I need without a doctor to go to. The good news is that my expected contribution is $0. The bad news is that this was just an intake evaluation and next week I have to go through another evaluation with a psychiatrist (this person was just a social worker). This is the sort of appointment that I always dread. I mean, really, who wants to dredge up all the crap from your whole life and then to have to do it twice? Oh well, it’s over for today I’m at least happy about that.

Congrats to the pugs

Yay Rebo!

I have been in Tulsa for two days doing interview sessions and we do a facility tour. This tour invovles trekking down a hill in 100 deg heat standing on concrete and explaining all the equipment to different groups of interviewees then trekking back up the hill. It was haaaaawwwwt! And I sweated my ass off. I also forgot to put my sunscreen on so I have a nice pink ‘V’ on my chest from wearing my coveralls and I am pink across my nose and cheeks with white racoon eyes from my safety glasses. Attractive no? mr ems about peed himself laughing at me when I sent him a picture. Remind me again why I keep him around?

Speaking of anniversaries it is our second - second anniversary this Sunday (we got married in Vegas in April then did a wedding blessing in August). I am the worst wife ever as mr ems had to remind me that it was our second-second anniversary and what would I like to do for it. The worst part is I leave on Sunday morning to go to Houston for the week. Oops!

Oh and slightly on topic - I haven’t been to a state fair but I have been to a county fair in WY when I lived there and the county fair here in CA. Every year in WY the fair was the week when we had horrific thunderstorms and flooding. Thankfully in CA they hold out county fair after the oppresive 105 deg F heat of summer dies down to about 90 in September

Will you settle for our dog doing the scoot on the absurdly light tan carpet? Even after getting her glands expressed - not two hours after getting home from the groomer last week, she dropped her butt and started marking up the floor. :smack:

Houston? You want to meet for lunch or sumpin’?

I’m sober ------- DOGGIO ain’t. Tomorrow I get to join him on the Dark Side of the Force. WOOHOO!!!
(In my defense, I was driving. Imagine your first motorcycle ride. Now imagine that ride with a drunken stranger. Didn’t seem like a winning idea at the time  )

Thanks all. I think the drama has one positive side: if I ever meet someone who writes for TV, I have some stories of the sort that can be stretched along two or three seasons of a show. And, unlike my war stories from work, these can be understood (although often, not believed, and congratulations to those who can’t because it means they’ve never met someone like that) by most everybody.

Belated congratulations to the Pugs for their Marriedversary!

Belated congrats to the Pugs!

I was right in my assumption, Fat Club was not kind to me last night. Oh well, that’s my fault for doing all the things I know I shouldn’t and then hoping it won’t catch up with me. Never mind, today is the start of another week…and I have to make sure I will fit into my frock for the wedding next Friday otherwise my outfit plans will be all up the creek.

Rouble, what have you done to poor Doggio?
