Duct tape floats - spinning and weaving - turkey legs - a State Fair MMP

A high school classmate has died of Pancreatic Cancer. I wasn’t close to him, but I knew who he was as we had many mutual friends. I am stunned.

Home from the dentist. This is the third crown the lab has screwed up. Or maybe the fourth, I can’t remember any more. I should have had the tooth pulled. Grrr.

Time for vicodin and bed.

I am alive and not ax murdered. I took Ruble on the pub crawl with my hockey frinds. they want him at Convention next year.

obigatory dunken prost

There are plenty of prayers and good thoughts to go around, fortunately. Just sad that there are so many who can use them. Hugs to you all!

So glad to hear about Dipsey, Rebo! You’re the Shelly Bookwalter (Last Chance Highway lady) of Houston.

The sore on my leg is -finally- healed, yay! It’s still quite fragile, however, and I’ll have to wear compression hose (which feel quite good, btw)

Dotty’s birthday was today, I think. I know her new job takes up quite a bit of her time now; I didn’t remember seeing anything about a move, though, but that too would explain her being MIA here. LOL Anyways, best wishes to Dotty!

And finally, it’s -nearly- FIRDAY!

We had a very nice time at dinner with our friends. We went to a mexican restaurant, where I was somewhat good and had a taco salad with chicken, no dressing. Plus, I didn’t have any of the shell. I pretty much just ate the chicken and lettuce, along with some of the cheese. Okay, okay, I cheated a little and had a couple slices of avocado and a small dollop of sour cream.

I also drank three mai tais.:o;)

But, considering that was the first food I had today, I don’t feel too awful.

The important thing is that we shared a lot of laughs with our friends who wanted to see us before they head off to Arizona for a week of golfing.

I think I’m going to chill and watch a little boob tube.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Not much goin’ on today. Well, there’s job search stuff and makin’ chicken divan for dindin but other than that, not much. Just another day in paradise.

{{{Rosie}}} even if you didn’t know your friend very well stuff like this is always a great shock.

doggio and Ruble glad y’all had a good time and managed not to axe-murder each other.

Ok, off to do, umm… sump’n. Some intertoobz surfin’ I guess.

It’s almost lunchtime and I is very tired. Had a bad night on Tuesday, went to the pub for beerverages last night and didn’t get home until midnight so I am feeling the lack of sleep now. Tonight is dedicated to sofa-vegging and dining on heated up leftovers from yesterday.

No axe-murdering yet? What kind of a road trip is that?

Good morning!

I forgot to post Dipsey’s homecoming piclast night.

No drama last night. Whew!

Back to the everlovin’ deadlines…

Rebo it looks like Dipsey has adopted y’all for good!

I’s all cleanded up and purtified. Chicken is coolin’ off and shall soon get transformed into chicken divan which will be cooked later in the day. It’s cloudy out. Hope that means rain.

Awww… That’s a great picture of you and Dipsey, Rebo! :D:D

Today I’m just working on my very small lunch order and then I’ll be working on fork stuff this afternoon.*
*There may or may not be a nap squeezed in there somewhere.

:dubious:

You’re going to make a couch out of poultry?

It’ll probably be better than what the cafeteria makes out of birds.

I want to give them a kick as they’re on some nutty kickin’ kick with odd spellings. The idea of a Kickin’ Chickin Cordon Bleu is almost acceptable until you see the description. I was thining that maybe they swap the swiss cheese for pepper jack, but they describe it as with ham, swiss and egg. EGG? Guessing it’s got a good whack of cajun spice or something similar. Not sure where an egg fits in.

The one that really scares me is the Kickin’ Chickin Chickinitaza. I have absolutely no idea what a chickinitaza is. Anything that takes that much effort to (mis)spell correctly can’t be good eats.

My (totally serious) guess is the egg is used to secure the breading.

dentist, carwash, bank, hair, nails, chorus. full day, I’d say

the egg is in the Hollandaise sauce.

Last night I tried a new piano bar/open mic – a place I’ve been to before, just a different pianist. In addition to the acoustic piano he used a drum machine and synthesizer, even on jazz standards, and I wasn’t crazy about that. Might not go back to him any time soon. But I broke out an unplanned, unrehearsed cover of the Carpenters’ “Superstar,” and that was fun.

Today is/will be another quiet day at work. Things won’t pick up for me until late next month: I’m grateful to be employed and happy to be here (specifically), but the boredom is getting old. Thank og for the Dope (and for a corporate intranet that lets me access it)!

Congrats!! And OMG is he cute – first picture I’ve seen.

Yay for no cone of shame!

Unlike Doggio, Dipsey can hold his licker?

MMMMMMMMM… couch chicken. Or would that be couch chickin?

Yay for havin’ some fun Missy. I say we need a video of you singin’.

Ok, couch chickin is made and ready to be finished up in the oven. I have also made a sallit to go with the couch chickin. I found some smoked poke chops in the freezer that will be dindin for tomorrow. I also cut up some bell peppers and onion to make Friggin’ Good N.O.T. for Sattidy. IOW I have spent a major part of the mornin’ channelin’ LiLi.

It was a great little visit. I had some fears because I like hockey (especially minor league) but I am a far cry from fanatical about it. And I know how - less than exciting? - amusement park events or history events can be for folks not deeply into it. But these hockey fans were a real kick and fun as Hell to get drunk with. My gout is reminding me why I usually don’t do tequila but it was well worth it. I may just have to sneak down for the pub crawl at next years convention!

(A fun moment was when Doggios friends snuck me on the bus to go to the official starting point. The “bus boss” wanted to make sure he had everyone after the Hofbrauhaus and did a head count. And did it again. And never quite figured out why he was one over and not x number under. Dude looked puzzled as all get-out)
