Incoming weather. Time to batten down the hatches…
Hot and sunny here.
I hope FCD is feeling a little better, FCM.
My hair has been cut, and I’ve had the roots done. Now I can feel better about being public again.
I think I’m going to leave the den. My husband’s computer game is loud and is driving me crazy.
Don’t take him around Isaly’s; they will dip him in chocolate and crushed up CrackerJacks.
(Reminds me of my old Tailcat -------- except he isn’t mutilating a human)
Doggie had breakfast the other day at a place called Eggs R Us that serves Mancakes. We assume Swampy would approve.
So many cats, so few recipes.
(a friend once had that on his bumpersticker)
It’s FREEDAY!
Of a three-day weekend none the less! Which is the weekend with most traffic in the whole year, but hey, I’m not going anywhere except to the supermarket for supplies and maybe, just maybe, depending on what’s showing, the movies. Quit O’Clock, here I come.
Oh yeah, and I shall try to wrap up the dissertation. I’m not motivated at all, really, but I ought’a do it simply because I said I would.
It’s Firday! Woohoo!
I had my nice quiet evening at home as planned, did the vacuuming and that was my total contribution towards domesticity. Dinner was leftovers with additional rice just so I could say I cooked something, and lunch today is leftover rice.
Grocery shopping tonight, then off to fetch 'im indoors from the station when he gets back from Belgium. Errands on Saturday and that is about all I have planned so far. I’m looking forward to a weekend at home for a change, doing very little.
Four-day week next week as I have a wedding to go to on Friday, so I will need to try on my frocks over the weekend and maybe prance around the house in my shiny new shoes too.
Ooh…pretty kitteh pics! Klondike is very much like my little besom, Ophie except she is completely white apart from the two little black spots on her head. I think that’s where Basement Cat stole her soul.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Happy FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH!!!:eek::eek:
That’s all I got for now.
Sorry I haven’t been checking in. I’ve been “busy” having “meetings”. Today is the duck tour of Pittsburhg. Oh, I did see wild turkeys yesterday.
We3ll, my friend C did hurl during the pub crawl.
Yay for Dipsy!
Good morning everyone. I’m up and caffienation shall soon commence.
The dogs are vying for attention from me and both keep trying to give me their bones.
Well, Taters, it is the Dog Days of Summer.
I was awakened by a barking Bubster this morning myself. Now I need to get off the internet and get to work. We’ll see how that goes.
How many bottles?
Gigablurfs. I took a midnight page for a deputy hurt in the line of duty, and slept completely through my alarm clock this morning. I was an hour and a half late for irk.
blurf
Ye Gods. I missed a lot. That’s what having pinkeye does to a person. But it’s my favorite day (Friday the 13th) and I’m finally back at work after a forced hiatus. I came in Tuesday, they looked at my eye and told me to leave. Now. So I did.
Disperse love, hugs, congratulations, condolences and beer as needed.
See? That’s why I made you drink Wild Turkey Tuesday night. Think of it as a Western Pennsylvania inoculation program! We know you’re going to see some (we had one road-killed in the middle of downtown) and we want to lessen the chances for some sort of avian disease outbreak. So we quietly get some Wild Turkey or Old Crow in you to build up resistance.
I missed that. The general rule for the South Side is that hurling and peeing in public is the sign of tourists unless you move to a side street or the blocks behind Carson and do it on someones front steps. Peeing on steps is almost a tradition among the regular bar-hoppers there.
Yay for Firday!
CUTE kittens!!
Somehow I have work that’s going to arrive for me after noon today. Yippee. I’m still hoping to get out of here a little early. What’s the point of summer - with my manager and overly-conscientious coworker out - if you can’t leave early on a Firday?
Eating kittens is not nice and no one should do it, ever!
Eating actual Klondike ice cream and pancakes is okay though.
But no kittens!
I think I’m going hiking on Sunday morning. Trying to work out the details with the friend who asked me now.
It’s about a 5.8 mile hike with a 2200 foot elevation gain up at Mt. Rainier. Should be lots of wildflowers and there’s a waterfall too. I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t hiked this particular trail in years.
I met OYKW at the Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet for lunch. 'Twas good. Da bear is stuffded. Dindin is supposed to be grilled smoked poke chops. That may change cause OYKW said he was stuffded and he went back to work, poor thing.
Annie pinkeye, yikes! Glad you’re all better.
taxi irk has no manners does it? I mean, really, showin’ up on a Firday afternoon?
Home early - yay! Work was dead and I just didn’t feel like staying 2 more hours. So I came home. Yay.
**FCD **was going to put the rest of the new lifelines on the boat, but it’s kinda drizzly/rainy/ick out, so he’s futzing with stuff around here. I’m thinking about assuming the knit position in front of the TV after I finish my comics. Daughter is on her way home, so idiot pug moves back to the basement tonight. Huzzah!
Yeah, life here is a laugh a minute…
Friday! Yaaaaaaay!
And I just had some beautiful flowers delivered from mr ems for our anniversary. Love that man!
I have already had 2 conf calls and I have 5 phone interviews scheduled for this afternoon and I am aiming to screen a bunch more resumes before lunch. A new Panera bread has just opened in town so I may go check that out for lunch. I am starving!
Our ‘almost anniversary’ dinner tonight will be chili and corn bread - not exactly summer fair but he is craving corn bread and I am craving chili. No I am not pregnant as he has already asked me that
Friday - Yay!
