Dude Doper Facial Hair Survey

Full beard and mo trimmed with a #3 once a week, except I shave my neck once a week.

Very short full beard and mustache.

I got tired of sporting the Civil War look, so I tossed the crappy store-bought trimmer, ordered a professional-quality trimmer online, and I trim the beard to 1/4" very regularly. The quality of the trimmer shows

I shave every few days, because I’m lazy but I also know that I can’t grow enough to have real facial hair. This is actually kind of fortunate, as I think facial hair helps trap oil, making acne worse.

By the way, theater in a crowded fire, your site’s background makes everything impossible to read. Love the username, though!

I’ve got a pretty full goatee, and sideburns down to my jawline.

I’ve never shaved my mustache or the patch of chin hair I’ve had since it started coming in. Trimmed the beard, but never shaved it all off.

What I wear it as when I can be arsed is ususally a detatched goatee, detatched because that hair just won’t grow for some reason. But due to habitual laziness, and the fact that I tend to break out even more when I try to shave everyday, I tend to get quite scruffy between shaves.

See Exhibit A.

Gots a full beard with stash action. Proof here (though it’s fuller now.)

It should be noted this is my “winter mode.” In fall, spring, and summer, I am clean shaven, save for my kick-as sideburns I’ve been sporting since I could grow them (14 or 15-ish.)

Goatee and presently a full beard (only cause I haven’t shaved since Xmas).

Sideburns down my ears’ midline, more or less. Work says that and a mustache is all I’m permitted, and I’ll be damned if I wear a mustache without some sort of beard. So just the sideburns.

Full beard and mustache, pretty much consistently since college (early 80’s). Had to shave it off when I worked for Domino’s for about 4 years, and occasionally if I’m acting in a show where I need to be clean shaven.

Beard varies from 1/2 inch to 1-1/2 inches.

Nearly full beard here. I’ve tried other things including being clean-shaven, but I’ve had a fullish beard most of my adult life (I shaved as a child  ).

The only thing not full about my beard is that I shave down my cheeks a bit, but not as often as I should, so it’s usually a bit messy in that department.

I’ve had compliments and criticism on the full beard, the three-day growth, the clean-shaven look, and everything else I’ve tried. So, I just do what I like, and that’s a full beard. I look pudgy and weird clean-shaven, IMHO.

And, more honestly, fuck shaving daily for a lark.

I’ve got the close clipped Van Dyke kind of thing. No sideburns, shaved cheeks and neck. I have had it since I was old enough to grow it and smart enough to realise that I have no chin. I have shaved it off 3 times I think, but each time I still lacked a chin and grew it back.

A guy at work once said to me, “I used to have a beard like yours but I realised how stupid it looked and I shaved it off.”

I replied, “I still have a face like yours but I realised how stupid it looks and grew this beard.”

Woof.

Goatee, grown a few years back as part of a Hallowwen costume, kept because a number of people told me it made me look hot. In the past I’ve had everything from a full beard to goatee to moustache to clean-shaven.

I usually have something. I just recently grew a [[beard](

) [again](

) after the birth of my son but shaved it down to a goatee just before New Year’s ([usual look](

)) . I’ve had sideburns almost non-stop since the late 80s and at least a goatee half that time. I’ve pretty much always kept it trimmed short except for a short stint a decade ago where I grew the goatee long with long hair half-way down my back. Those would be interesting pictures if I can find any.

I only shave about every 3 days, so I have the 3 o’clock shadow usually.

I screwed that up. Let’s try again.

Clean shaven here. I have sideburns that go down to about the middles of my ears, though it varies. I usually have them down to the bottoms of my ears (the lowest they can go under Dining Services policy if I want to keep a job slinging hash in the dining hall.)

In high school, they were even bushier to the point that a girl once commented on my sideburns, saying (and I quote) “You could be Elvis.” (I looked into it, but it turns out I’m not.)

Had a winter beard up until a few days ago. Since it was 45 F in Jan in WI, I decided I didn’t need it. I’m clean shaven now and it looks like highs in the single digits next week. :smack:

Yes, nice to see someone else with a relaxed attitude towards the razor. Our minds are mirror images

Cheers mate!

See what you did? You decide to shave and now the rest of us have to suffer.

Although I’ve never noticed any particular heat retention from having a beard vs not.

Full beard, as usual for the past year and a half. My hair’s a bit longer now. I’m going for a full Rasputin.
