Full beard since 1982, trimmed close once a week.
Sideburns, about down to my chin line. It’s really all I can grow. My ability to grow facial hair is at the worst level, it grows enough that I have to shave every morning, but not enough that I could ever manage a beard of any kind. So it inconviniences me without providing even the possability of any benefit.
Goatee with the “House” look. I rarely shave every day and sometimes only once a week.
I’ll occasionally knock the whole thing down and start over but the goatee usually comes back within the week.
Clean shaven for years and years, except for a brief college experiment with growing a beard. It came in very spotty; I looked like a shiftless Amish man and soon shaved it all off, ne’er to return. I’ll let it grow out over the weekend or on vacation sometimes, but come Monday morning off it comes.
Sidenote: I once read that Pete Wilson, former U.S. senator and governor of California, shaved three times a day, he had such a heavy beard. That would be a drag.
No beard or moustache, and often even no sideburns. If I let my beard grow in, it would be heavily salt-and-pepper, which would not match my hair.
Facial hair is for the insecure
So, as such, I have kept a moustache since the age of fifteen. I’ve shaved it off four times and hated it each time. I suspect I’ll die with it.
I go from just the 'stache to a horseshoe, goatee, or an imperial (AKA “soul patch”). I just have the 'stache and imperial now. I would probably grow a full beard if I could, but I was not blessed with the necessary genes for that.
Full beard. Caricature here(there are also photos, but those are a bit old).
I’m starting a new trend. Bald with full beard.
Photo Here, but it was taken during a camping trip so I’m a little fuzzier than usual.
I’m another of the theoretical clean shaven types. Clean shaven when I remember to shave, light to heavy stubble depending on same. Sometimes if it gets long and I need to shave in a hurry I’ll just hit the sides and endup with a goatee and stache for a few days.
Full beard kept trimmed (ok, I need to trim it up now) here. I’ll post a pic from home tonight. I’m considering taking it down to a goatee just to see what it’d look like. I like goatees on other men, so maybe one would look good on me. I’ve had this incarnation of a beard for 22 years now. In the past I’d grow a beard, shave it off, except for the stache, leave it that way for a while, then grow it back, rinse, wash, repeat…
Goatee and stubble, mainly.
Clean-shaven. I use a razor in the shower each morning & then spray that cleaning stuff all around the stall before I get out. It keeps cut hair bits out of the sink, which is a major squick for the spouse.
I shave when my facial hair starts becoming apparent. That is, every week or every other week.
Fuzzy is good!
For me, full beard, short on the sides, and long on the chin. Think ZZ Top, but not anywhere near as broad or long.
How many years would that take to grow, anyway?
Mustache. Goatee. Shaved head. Also there’s a cat sitting on my lap and I’m shopping for monocoles.
I’ve decided to let out my inner super-villain.
Wow, I must admit I thought the SDMB was much more clean shaven!
Hope that works out for you. How are you fixed for flunkies and a secret underground base?
Clean shaven with some descents into stubbliness. But usually clean shaven.
I wear vaguely sideburn shaped growths beside my ears and occasionally grow a soul patch but am otherwise clean-shaven in theory. In practice, though, I go about one to two weeks between shaves but have such slow growth that by the fourteenth day, my “beard” looks like what my dad grows in only fourteen hours.
Goatee, minus the bit that connects the mustache to the chin hairs, since no hair grows there. I also have moderately longish sideburns, extending just under my ears. I think they look good, and I’ve gotten compliments. The goatee, in particular, hides my long and massive chin.
