My position is you acted like jackass for calling Dudley out for making a simple mistake that broke the rules. It’s a dick move to accuse someone of plagiarism like that. I wouldn’t be at all surprised that you intended to be a dick when you posted that plagiarism comment.
And you only compounded your asshattery but further calling Dudley out for something he didn’t do on purpose (the PM thing).
Your bad behavior is not justified in any way by Dudley’s bad behavior. You are just as much at fault for your reaction.

The thing is, when you’re in the wrong you’re rarely aware of it yourself, otherwise you probably wouldn’t feel the way you do. When that happens, it’s sometimes the case that the best way a person can really tell if they are in the wrong is if people they respect think they are. There were several people in that thread whose opinions I value who felt that my post did indeed rise to the level of plagiarism, and it was their thinking on the subject that convinced me that I was in the wrong.
Consideration must be given also to the fact that one person’s ‘buckling’ can be nothing more than another person’s attempt to do the right thing.

No heroes here, just a junior mod with a badly tarnished badge running up against someone who wasn’t in the mood to take the junior modding crap.

I’ve done 1 a few times (not that often). I hope I’ve never done 2, but I certainly don’t remember all of my posts over the years.
Dudley erred, Oak instigated (ass), Dudley responded (ass[sup]2[/sup]) and then went to ass[sup]3[/sup] in responding to twickster.
