Link to story. Here’s one for the “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” file. A guy in Boca Raton, Florida carjacked an SUV, and then he got so hopelessly lost that he ended up in Palm Springs with no clue where he was. He ended up calling 911 and turning himself in.
At least he realized how terminally dumb he is.
What, they don’t have gas stations in Palm Springs? Sheesh, what a maroon.
I’ve given up on asking for directions from a gas station. More often than not, I’ll ask and get a blank stare and a “I don’t know, I don’t live around here”. Gee…thanks. I guess you must commute an hour to this job to be THAT unfamiliar with this area. 
What, a guy, ask for directions?
So? It’s pretty plausible that someone could never go to the area unless they are working, drive several miles to work and then half a block off of the highway to the gas station. Why should they be familiar with all of the side streets around the area?
