DVD music copy question.

I recieved A DVD with a cd I bought, and there is a song on the DVD that was not included on the cd.

Its a real good song, what methods can I use to get this as an Mp3, and burn it?

The thing is, my computer does not have a dvd reader. But I have a friend who does.

My first thought was too put it in his computer, play it, and use some sort of recorder.

Anything else I could do?

Thanks!

The correct way would be to go to your friend’s house and use SmartRipper to rip the DVD to his hard drive and then DVD2AVI which will convert the embedded soundtrack into a WAV file, which can then be easily burned to disc and encoded as an MP3.

There are other ways, of course. You could use a program like Total Recorder (it captures all audio output to a WAV file, so make sure to turn off any system sounds before you begin playing\recording the file. You could also buy a cable from Radio Shack that will allow you to put the RCA audio outs from your DVD player into the LINE-IN on your PC’s sound card, but for the highest quality, I recommend the method I described first. Both of the required programs can easily be found via Google are are freeware.

A word of advice: this kind of thread will normally get locked if the replies incite any kind of illegal activity. Try not to mention “ripping” and “burning” things too much!

Rex Good stuff man, I shall do this. Thanks.

samarm, Alright. I guess I can see why it would be locked, but like I said I did buy the cd.
If anyone is curious, it was the new Zwan record.

I’m going to close this because of copyright concerns.
