E.R. season premiere 9/27

Neela was being trampled by a stampeding crowd in last season’s finale.

We may find out her fate tonight. Meanwhile, Morris lays down the law in the E.R.

Back tomorrow…

This show is still on the air?

Yep. Must be 15 years now or close to it.

Not Morris; Moretti.

Stanley Tucci! I’d forgotten all about him! I’ll watch, especially since Mad Men is a repeat.

I watched it. I don’t know why, I guess I didn’t really want to get into a new show. But this was so far from being new it was ridiculous. The whole time I was watching it I felt I’d seen the whole thing before. New hard-ass doc who’s also a medical genius and one of the staff is severely injured. The only interesting character was Howard Hesseman’s.

I could take it or leave it last season. I guess I should just move on.

That’s good to hear – I need to drop some TV. You’re right, the brilliant and irascible doctor has been done to death everywhere.

I recorded it but haven’t watched yet. (Turns out Mad Men wasn’t a repeat after all.)

I’m usually the one defending ER in recent years, but I found this episode pretty meh. I really hope we don’t suffer through a Neela-has-brain-injury-of-some-sort storyline. I do think that an interesting plotline could come from various people suing based on the firecracker guy, his public identification as such, and his strangling.

I was rather surprised to see Moretti needing to cry on Abby’s shoulder so soon, figured he’d be made of tougher stuff or at least not want to show weakness so quickly.

I miss Ray’s character and am still having a hard time warming up to Gates’. I know eventually they’ll hook me into caring about the guy, they always do, but meh.

Cute solidarity moment with the waiting outside of recovery and ordering pizza but one thing niggled at me… with Luka gone Abby’s a single parent, right? Sure, Joe was in daycare before but now she’s the only parent available to pick him up. No grandparents or aunts and uncles around to help, yet Abby’s got time after her scheduled shift to hang around waiting for Neela to wake up without calling her sitter and making arrangements to be excessively late?
