Easily bruised

I went diving today, and when I got back, I had red, painless bruises shaped from the parts where the drysuit had pressed onto my skin; for example, at the moment I have a perfectly round circle on my chest, from the plastic vent, and I’m looking rather like I’ve been attacked by a giant octopus. I also get these kinds of bruises from, say, wearing a somewhat heavy shoulder bag.

My memory is sketchy, but I’m pretty sure these bruises just fade away, instead of going blue and yellow, like typical skin trauma. On closer inspection, they consist of clusters of small red capillaries, looking a little like somebody has slapped me with a fine-grained cheese grater. People’s reaction to seeing these bruises are usually of the “Oh my God, that must hurt!” variety.

I’ve been like this for at least six years, but I don’t think my skin has always behaved like this. I know about how bruises are a possible symptom of anemia, but I don’t have any of the other symptoms. I’m not worried, just curious.

Easily bruising is also a symptom of possible diabetes. But these don’t really sound like bruises to me.
