This short film is pretty old if I remember correctly. If any person could remind me of the correct title so I can look for it. My Google guessing brings me nothing. My memory tells me this is from the era of Aeon Flux. Back in time when we had sci fi. Not S**t fy. Aeon was probably MTV.

Could you be a little more clear about what you’re asking about? The man with a day off is eating, and simultaneously he’s producing a suit by pooping it out? Are we talking about a sports-jacket-and-tie sort of suit, or a spacesuit, or something else? Is this something seen on screen, or talked about?

This is almost certainly not what you’re looking for, but the thread title reminded me of Mr. Show’s Burgundy Loaf sketch.
It is a suit designed for eating while simultaneously excreting. Spoiler, it fails miserably.

The device sounds a bit like the stillsuit from the Dune universe, although the plot you’re describing does not.

Build on this, O.P., what is the suit supposed to do, and what, instead does it do? What else does this guy do on his day off while enjoying the time savings this suit gives him, and why?
This sounds Terry Gilliam’s Brazil-esque, but given its a short film, could be anyone’s work.
“eat while you excrete” sounds like a tagline I’ve heard, but that just works no matter what.

A notice is delivered, on paper, giving notice that to improve his living conditions they will be adjusting his living quarters. He barely has the time to read it when the walls start closing in almost crushing his legs before he jumps onto his bed. There may be a few other antics, but they finally give him his day off, a Hatch opens leading up and out. He stands shivering nervously as he looks at the trees, and perfectly manicured grass. His eyes light up and he runs to a single standing wall with bars across the opening. Grasping the bars and staring out he finally relaxes and smiles. looking at the trees etc. through the bars.
If I remember properly, it ran on MTV or Sci-Fi Channel. Definitely before Sy-Fy Channel. I am thinking early 90’s.
So … they call it an eat and excrete, but in reality, its an excrete and eat, kinda like the Star Trek replicator takes everyone’s food waste and re-replicates into the next meal order. Except built into the suit (yeah, I got that it was probably a scuba type suit) and a low tech version at that. And failure prone.
Ok, if its from the Aeon Flux time of MTV, remember that first appeared in Liquid Television. IIRC, many years ago, Viacom put all those online. You could spend a weekend watching everything. I’d do that just for the fun of it if I had the bandwidth.
