ED...Natural Remedies?

I think I may be starting to experience erectile dysfunction. I am sure there’s a lot of information on the web about this, but I thought I’d ask the Dope first. Any other guys out there have experience with this?

I don’t really like taking pills and whatnot so I am not sure I want to go that route (Viagra, Cialis, etc).

Are there any natural remedies for this condition that actually work and aren’t hogwash? Kinda need answer fast, as I just started dating someone new and I don’t want to be, um, disappointing!

Thanks in advance!

First make sure that it’s not due to some medical condition that you need to get treated - high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, prostate issues. After that, if you’re still having problems, then start looking into other pills - whether they be unregulated herbs or modern medicine.

The ED may be due to the “natural aging process” or it could be a symptom of something you shouldn’t ignore.

This isn’t the answer you want, but it’s the real one: better diet, and exercise.

Being healthier improves sex in all kinds of ways.

Beyond that general principle, you want to specifically support and stimulate circulation, if you follow me. B-vitamins, potassium, zinc, omega-3s, among other nutrients, are important here. Look up foods high in these and you’ll notice that they appear on lots of general “healthy eating” lists, and many of them are also reputed “aphrodisiacs”–oysters, for example, provide a flood of zinc. It’s not that there are any particular magic sex foods, it’s that people perceive things as such when they readily address deficiencies. If you were getting plenty of zinc from other sources, oysters would have no particular benefit in this area.

On short notice, ginger and hot peppers work as circulatory stimulants. Try a low-fat hot Asian cuisine for the dinner date.

Threads seeking medical advice and anecdotes go in IMHO, so I shall move this thither for you.

Thanks. I am seeing a lot of shit out there on the internet…products with Arginine-L (ArginMax), stuff called Yohimbe (??)…does any of this stuff work?

I’ve never had an issue before, and I am in better health now than I was 5 years ago…I quit smoking, weigh less, exercise a little more…so I don’t know other than age (42) why I am starting to develop this issue. Its not for a lack of desire!
