What about that kid from Dougie Hauser MD?
What’s his name?
Max Casella! That’s it.

Looks like Billy Crystal has it again. A fine, but desperate, choice.
Good for him for coming back. They needed it.

Bit harder to imagine the “faggots are funny” bit going over well nowadays.

Well, you certainly got that one right!
Billy Crystal hosting has something of an old Hollywood, “The show must go on!” vibe to it. He’s my all-time favorite Oscar host, but who knows whether he can live up to his history.
Oh, I cannot *stand *Billy Crystal–well, at least I will be able to get to bed early that night.
I’ve been trying to think of what would lead me to watch the Oscars. Maybe if Louis CK hosted. Or if Kate Winslet hosted from her bathtub.
Looks like the “mute” button on my remote is going to get quite a workout Oscar night.
The only thing less funny than Billy Crystal is Billy Crystal telling a bunch of lame Bruce Vilanch jokes.
Stupid Billy Crystal.
They should’ve taken Sacha Baron Cohen.
I sort of figured Billy Crystal would be the new choice, as in a recent interview about 5 months ago (?) he mentioned maybe he might want to host the show again sometime.
I guess he is a safe choice - his opening songs, with references to all of the Best Film nominees, has occasionally been funny over the years. Still, an uninspired choice and Billy Crystal is most certainly very old school Borscht Belt schtick.
Then again, after last years failed attempt to be new and original with Franco and Hathaway, and the fallout from “Mr. Fag Rehearsals”, I can imagine “safe” seems the right choice now.
Yeah, Crystal’s the safe choice. sighing for what might have been with NPH, or others named previously.
I thought Billy was very funny the year the Hobbits won (yay). lots of good improvising. don’t think he’ll top that year.
Say what?
Speaking of which, anyone want to take bets he figures out a way to say “Jews don’t need rehearsals!” during the show?
