Edmonton Posters?

Yes sirreee. It’s called “Beer Felching”. It’s very popular. They’re doing it in NYC now as well. Haven’t you heard??

Hunky Uncie, you are doing great… do stay for Coldy’s beer ass drinking demonstration.

Uh, I don’t think so. My nightmares are bad enough already.

Coldfire, doesn’t the carbonation kind of, umm, burn? I know what beer feels like when I laugh and it shoots into my sinus cavity, but I don’t want to think about how it would feel in my colon. Urk.

Fuck if I know, Unc. I just drink it. You’ll have to ask Moosie about the burning sensation.

While I have never heard of “beer felching”, I have heard of a “butt chug”. I saw a picture of it on the Dallas Hash House Harriers website way back when. Their site is currently down, but if I find a picture of the butt chug I will post a link. It is rather amusing.

Gee, I almost hate to go back on topic, but North West Edmonton here.

Another Edmontonian here - formerly a Calgarian. A Red Deer Dopers meeting would be interesting (what the heck’s in that town? ).

What the hecks in Red Deer?

Hmmm… I used to live there. I should know.

Ask the former Red Deer chick. I can answer questions for ya.

(1) What’s the best bar in which a group of Dopers like us can have a great time, eat, drink, be merry, etc? My experience of anything beyond “Gasoline Alley” and Gaetz Ave is limited.

(2) Edmonton = Edmontonian. Calgary = Calgarian. Red Deer = …? Red Deerian? Red Deerite? Moose?

Moose are from Toronto. Everybody knows THAT.
They weren’t born there, though. Moose are francophone Torontonians, imported from Quebec

Havoc we are looking at having a meet here in Edmonton on July 14th, the night before Ultress leaves to go back to North Carolina. She is only here for the week. Hopefully we can arrange an Alberta meet for another time during the summer if the ahem… cowtowners agree to it.

It’s been a few years, but I’m sure the Blarney Stone pub is still there. It can get rather noisy on a weekend. I’m trying to think of places that aren’t so noisy that you can’t hear each other speak. We’d probably be better off in a quiet lounge… and make it noisy ourselves.

OR… if you’d like to meet sometime over the summer, someplace like Gull Lake or Sylvan Lake would be nice. Make a day of it.

My wife was born in Edmonton and lived in Argyll as a child… work also takes me there often. If that doesn’t make me an honorary citizen of Edmonton then I am at least am owed the key to the city of Vegreville.
A friend of mine always says only two things come from Edmonton, whores and hockey players. My wife is a fine right winger!
Yeah, OK, now it’s your turn for comeuppance…
Stanley Cups–Edmonton 5, Vancouver 0.
Are we even?

Lola, we could also try one of the places on Whyte Ave or at WEM. Sherlocks on Whyte is always a good time and since its a small group shouldnt be too hard to accommodate us.
(Vancouver has a loser hockey team Mike)

Northeast Edmonton here.

Count me in.

But…

If we all gonna meet somewhere for drinks, someone has to help me carry Sue out.

I am NOT doing it by myself AGAIN.

Once, that is all you have had to carry me, just once!! Course you might have to this Thursday. I’m no dummy, thats why you are driving

CanadianSue said to Mike30:

Hey, come on! That stings. We made the finals twice … Ok, you’ve got me there. We’ve got Messier and you don’t - neener, neener, neener … no, that’s no good either. Ummmmmmm…we had those yellow and orange V-neck jerseys! Beat that, if you dare!

Okay.

Sherlocks on Whyte. Fri, July 14th in the evening. Count me in (tentatively).

Theater Sports is also a block north of there (if I’m not mistaken). Only if we can’t find enough booze & chat to keep ourselves busy til 11pm, though.

I found the pictures of a “butt chug”. This is actually a link to a picture of the very rare “double chug”. Adults only please.

Sorry, Sue. I should have made it clear that I was suggesting places in Red Deer for a meeting with the Calgary folks this summer.

Sherlocks on Whyte sounds great!
