Eggs

Am just doing my end of year clearing out of my refrigerator, well actually most stuff goes back in once I’ve cleaned the shelves 'cause nothing much is old or gets forgotten ( apart from some walnut pickle that must have been a xmas 2009 gift!)

But I notice that I have chicken eggs, quail eggs and also goose eggs. I know I had some duck eggs but they went into that last chop suey I made. ( this is unfertilised ducks eggs not embryonic balut!!)

just wondering what eggs do other dopers eat apart from chicken eggs ?

( tell me your favorite type of fish eggs too)

Moves thread, carefully, from MPSIMS to Cafe Society.

sorry … posting here is not an eggxact science

Old yolk.

I can’t recall eating any bird eggs other than chicken eggs, but the other sort of eggs I like are those orange ones you get in sushi. I’m not even sure what fish they comes out of, but I do like them.

None, sorry. It’s not that I wouldn’t, but I’ve never had the opportunity. And if I saw quail eggs at the store, I’d probably just ignore them.

Joe

Just chicken eggs in my fridge right now. I’m not sure where I could get any other kind, I don’t know anybody who raises poultry. I have had turkey eggs in the past but I think that’s about the limit of my egg eating experience.

I love guinea eggs. They are very rich tasting and make cakes extra yummy.

Please don’t egg him on.

You really shouldn’t put all your eggs in one forum.
mmm

Why? He needs to come out of his shell.

Fowl eggs: I’ve only eaten chicken and quail (but only once).

Fish eggs: Salmon is scrumptious, but my favorite is tobiko for the texture.

My daughter loves popping salmon roe one at a time in her mouth. She’s weird.

ETA: I’ve also had black caviar and that was good, but very salty.

I was just wondering how much one would shell out for an ostrich egg. Cracks me up just to think about it.

I don’t know what kind of animal a Cadbury Creme is, but I like its eggs.

Somewhat similar thread from earlier this year.

Chicken and quail. It’s one of my lifelong goals (sadly enough) to make an omelet from an ostrich egg.
