El Sartorio - tracking down ancient porn

Inspired by a post in the Funniest Porn thread I decided to try to track down El Sartorio, apparently the oldest pornographic film in existence. The film dates from 1907, so it should be public domain material by now. But I can’t find it - and most of the sites that have info on the film seem to be quoting the same article Wikipedia does. Now I am beginning to doubt that it even exists; if it’s porn and legal to distribute you would think that it’s available on the internet somewhere, wouldn’t you? Has anybody here seen it?

You reckon without the personality of the film collector. He can be one of the most selfish connoisseurs imaginable, keeping even the existence of something rare or unique a jealously guarded secret.

You might try the vintage erotica forum (put the www on the front, the .com on the back, and separate the words with dashes).

Are you specifically looking for it posted on the Internet, or would any format do? I’ve seen it on video; it was stocked by Scarecrow Video as part of a set of vintage porn. The series title was something along the lines of “What Got Grandpa Hard”.

So far I have only been searching online, but any format will do. I learned about the existence of the film a few days ago and haven’t had the time to roam Copenhagen’s dingy video stores for vhs copies. :stuck_out_tongue: My plan is (if I can find it) to give a copy to a friend of mine, who is definitely into “celluloid oddities” - I think “The World’s oldest filmed porn” might fit right in there.

As many, I guess, I’ve seen clips of apparently just El Sartorio - incredibly hilarious to watch hard-core porn that makes Buster Keaton gags look modern in comparison.

Thank you for the tip. I have just joined over there, but so far in vain - a forum search brings up nothing. Seems like a fun place, though, and so full of tacky old Danish stuff that it feels like entering a 1970s adult cinema here in Copenhagen.

Hahaha:cool:
I posted this around the same time of the devil with the horn pic, that film if survived auctioned off as the most expensive-valuable material possession ever—
