Elder Scrolls Online $12 today only - no subscription fee

Normally I’d just add this to the digital distribution thread, but since I think there are probably a decent few people interested in trying this, and the price is significantly lower than anything we’ve ever seen, and it only lasts 24 hours, I decided to make a thread.

It switched to a buy-to-play model a few months back, so there’s no longer a subscription fee, so it’s a pretty cheap MMO to get into if you wanted to try one. During the free beta player recall weekend thing they did a while ago, it seems reasonably polished and fun.

If you want to play together, post your name on here. I’ll have to figure out what mine is later after I install it.

Code SLICKD-EALGMG-SALESV or GMGSUM-MERSAL-E20OFF for another 20% off.

Thank you; I’ve been waiting on a sale, and I can confirm the first voucher code works.

Is that the whole game or just an expansion?

The entire game, or at least I should say the base game.

It now says out of stock. Oh well.

This is a game that I would like to have except that I am completely unwilling to pay $60 for it. It didn’t go on sale enough during the Steam Summer sale. This sale has the right price for it. And of course, a product that doesn’t even exist in physical space goes out of stock. Great. Maybe in another six months we’ll try again.

I was lucky enough to grab this for $12 before the offer ended. Thanks for the head’s up, SenorBeef.

Dang; I just now saw this thread. Like DWMarch, I’m unwilling to pay $60 for a download of this game and it didn’t go on sale at Steam, so I’m bummed I missed this. Thanks for the heads up, tho, SenorBeef.

For anyone who missed out: this is back at GMG today, $12 again with the same code, and appears to be in-stock for the moment. Their website is really slow right now, but I was able to grab it.

My long time love of The Elder Scrolls says “buy!”. My time commitment for a MMORPG says “why?”. I’m going to go with why.

gah 60 gigs? so much for playing off my SSD.

I was able to buy the game this time around.

500GB 840 evos are in the $150 range now, it’s a worthwhile investment. Lots of space for today’s huge games.

The sale is having an encore today so I was able to grab ESO Tamriel edition for $12.

The game is fun so far although I’m playing it like it was Skyrim which I doubt is how it is meant to be played.

Be prepared for about an hour of patching before the game will let you play though. I already had ESO installed from the free weekend a while ago.

Now I roam the shores of Tamriel. I hope they’re ready for the vengeance of my Nord warrior, Dhiiz Nhuutz!

I’m starting to get a bit of time behind the hilt this weekend. Still feeling my way through the early stages. I’m a bit surprised how lost I feel in a general “what is going on, and what the hell do I do now” sense. I figured with a lifetime of ES experience + another lifetime of MMORPG experience it would be obvious to me, but I have to look up tips online a lot it seems.

I’m still curious how the ES standard “God of all Trades” mechanic is worked into the game, but I assume it will work itself out.

It’s on sale right now for $40 at Steam… is it worth $40 or should I wait for it to be on sale for $20 again?

I paid $12 for it and I still feel kind of cheap and used. But I’m weird like that.

I agree. I bought at $12 primarily to lock-in my investment at that price. I’ve played about 3 hours, and we still haven’t “bonded”, but I haven’t played enough to fully form an opinion. One thing’s for sure: I’m glad I didn’t pay $30+.
