Harris will still gain way more votes in Fairfax than she is behind by, and looking at the other counties she’s still a big favourite. But it’ll be a way weaker victory than in 2020.
I typed that just before the link to DDHQ but it makes sense. The Trump counties (as they did in 2020) counted faster, while the urban counties will still deliver many Harris votes.
Does anyone have an overall theory of how Harris is possibly doing worse than Biden, despite J6, Roe, and the total deterioration of Trump?
Low-population counties trend Republican and are faster at reporting their results than urban centers that consistently vote Democrat, and the largest precincts are almost always the last to report in.
She’s Black and a woman and some people are bigots. She was a parachuted in candidate who had to build a campaign at the last minute. Elon Musk and other agents of misinformation. RFK Jr is helping Trump a lot. One can theorize all day.

The economy has peeled away enough urban and suburban voters, along with the fact that Harris is a Black woman.
And rural voters did not leave him over J6 or Roe.

Trump’s lead in GA has gone down by 40,000 since the last update I saw.
Incumbency is now toxic, almost worldwide. Harris is doing well in that environment.
