I have a feeling we will find out sooner rather than later. I am under the impression that Trump’s health is very precarious right now and I would be surprised if he lived to the start of another term.

I alluded to that upthread. Either his health (mental or physical) would render him incapable of governing, or that he would make it to the swearing-in, but Vance would invoke the 25th Amendment if he made too many verbal gaffes as President.
This is completely backwards.
He declared victory in 2020 because he knew he was going to lose and the only way to “win” was to overturn the will of the people.
You don’t have to prematurely declare victory when you are confident you will win in the final count. You just come out, thank your supporters, do the “weave”, and talk about how confident you are you will end up winning.
Why would that be dumb? I feel terrible for her. (And for ALL Americans*. Yes, even the idiots who voted for Trump.)

I feel bad for her and the US. It appears we are ready to elect a narcissistic, cognitively impaired and rapidly mentally declining authoritarian who is ready to punish his opponents.
And the other option if you’re clearly losing is to have a surrogate come out, spend sixty seconds speaking, and saying that the candidate isn’t going to say anything the night of the election. Which is what just happened with Harris.
I wonder if it would be wise for Harris to never concede. Trump never did in 2020. Just let her sit there. He’ll rant and rave about how she should be conceding, but all she has to do is say, “You didn’t, Donald. And I’m not done yet.”
