The Right Wing noise machine must be running out of material. Seriously, is this the best you’ve got?
All I’ve seen out of the GOP lately is either blatantly making shit up (like “death panels”) or making Mount Everest sized mountains out of molehills.
I hope the GOP keeps getting crushed in elections, over and over again, until they finally wise up and become a responsible opposition party. But as it stands now, they’re just batshit crazy.
Hell, its gotten so you can’t even make fun of them anymore, you can’t keep up! Two years ago, if I had suggested that anyone would be saying the kind of stuff Michelle Bachmann (R-Guano) says, I would have got roundly dumped upon by tighty righty and loony left alike.
Plus, I don’t have a good enough imagination to make up shit like that!
You know, I wasn’t going to say anything, since the thread’s not about Sam, but I really concur with this. I’m not the most active member of this board, but there’s a number of posters I follow, particularly the Canadian denizens of the board, and in the last year, it really does seem like you’ve turned some sort of wild corner, Sam. And it’s not that I’m attacking you from a partisan standpoint - I’ve voted for Stockwell Day, for pete’s sake - it’s that I see you posting things that are just transparently proven false and paranoid. Is this extended performance theatre in the “taste of their own medicine” category?
I saw you post about how Fox News was to your distaste - how do you not see that all these manufactured outrages are coming from that same noise machine (of which Fox is a part of, but not entire)?
I think a good question for someone of any political or moral persuasion to ask himself when he stumbles upon a news story:
Many, many bad things happen in this country, and throughout the world. Considering this fact, is this particular unpleasant news item worthy of my outrage, or is there something more important I could be focusing on?
So I was completely, totally 100% right about this.
It was shortly after the inauguration, in recognition of Black History Month, and part of a program of other performances. Just as I expected.
What I did not know, but which seems to justify my distinct lack of outrage, is that apparently none of the people actually involved found it objectionable.
The school district’s present concerns focus on the privacy of the children, not on any fears of “indoctrination”.
The right’s ability to manufacture outrage about this is only another demonstration of their bankruptcy of ideas and issues. Bloviating vicious and duplicitous nonsense is all the right has to cling to, now that their world has been turned uppside down. Disgusting.
For reals. Its a travesty too that I’m forced to look at Washington’s ugly mug every time I pay with cash. I hate that slave-owning motherfucker. Lincoln, Franklin, and JFK too. I shudder to think that innocent children pay for their candy in money soiled with the likeliness of folks I had no hand in electing and whose politics offend me. What are we teaching them? That people like Jefferson were heroes?!
When I have kids, I’m making them go to school on President’s day. Fuck all them motherfucking leaders who think they can make my unborn babies pay them respect. Fuck 'em with the shovels used to bury them. We are not in Cuba, dammit.
Staying to debate after such evidence was revealed would have been in congruent with the original intent of the OP. After all, he already admitted he should have focused on the teacher in question and not attempted to catch the entire liberal population in a trap.
Is “hypocrite hunting” a regular term we can use now?
So you have some examples of things I’ve posted that are transparently false?
In this thread, I said that ACORN was supposed to receive 7 billion dollars from the stimulus. I did some searching, and it appears that the number was whittled down to 4.19 billion, specifically set aside in the stimulus for ‘neighborhood stabilization activities’. That money was originally supposed to go only to state and local governments, but Democrats changed the language to specifically allow the money to be dispersed to groups like ACORN. Here’s one cite.
I also said that the NEA and the White House were politicizing the agency by asking artists to create specifically to advance the White House’s agenda. It appears that no one else here has heard of this. I find that very surprising, because the scandal has already forced the resignation of the NEA’s communications director. They also repeatedly lied about the call. First, they said that the ‘outreach’ wasn’t directed by the White House or the NEA, but by a third party. Then an E-mail surfaced from the NEA’s communications director, making it clear that he set it up. Then they said that there was ‘absolutely no attempt to ask artists to promote the President’s agenda’. Fortunately, one of the participants in the call was uncomfortable about it, and recorded it. The transcript specifically shows that the NEA and White House very specifically asked them to promote the administration’s agenda.
This is not a wild conspiracy or a Fox News invention. Here’s Jake Tapper’s report, complete with an apology from the White House. Of course, they only had to apologize because they got caught.
I was asked for a cite about Eric Holder’s dismissal of a case of voter intimidation against the Black Panthers. Here it is.
The DOJ dismissed the case because they said they didn’t have enough evidence that voter intimidation occurred, which is ridiculous on its face since there is actual video of black panthers standing in front of a polling place tapping nightsticks in their hands and confronting people. And the government had already won a default judgment against them in federal court.
As for Congress squashing corruption investigations, here’s one report from Judicial Watch.
Charles Rangel is corrupt through and through. He’s been caught failing to report hundreds of thousands of dollars in income. He ‘forgot’ to pay $75,000 in taxes. He runs offices out of rent-controlled apartments in Manhattan he shouldn’t have.
It apepars there are still investigations going on over John Murtha’s murky dealings, which is good, but the investigation into Chris “friend of Angelo” Dodd seems to have been killed.
Jesus Marimba, Sam, you’ve gone from being overly partisan to flat out bullshit! You give us right-winger bloggers as cites, who are citing other right wing bloggers! You get to the actual nub of it, and there’s a big ol’ of cash that ACORN might have had a share in, or might not. And you tell us with a straight face its for ACORN?
Are the rest of your stories as totally full of shit as this one? I’m just guessing here, but I’m ready to guess that the Black Panther thing is just about this lame. After all, your cite says “inquiry”. You do realize thats quite a bit short of “found guilty”, right?
