Is there any way to be notified of postings to a thread if you have not posted to it yourself?
Sometimes I find a discussion interesting, but have nothing to add, or just want to see how it develops.
Well, there’s my method, which is to never be away from the site, and keep checking the forums for new posts every few minutes. Other than that there doesn’t seem to be any way.
I’m just kidding. I take three hours off every night to sleep.
Yeah, your method is the one I currently use.
But they are starting to look at me strangely at work…
I just bookmark a thread until the discussion ends. Then I delete the bookmark.

There’s always the “email notification” checkbox in the reply window, but I really don’t encourage that since you can quickly get inundated with emails.

We don’t have that option, and I don’t think we ever will. You have to reply to get e-mail notification as an option. Now, since we’re not encouraging you to reply just for the hell of it, the bookmark suggestion is probably your best bet.
Fair enough, I’ll go with the bookmark idea then.
