One poster that I just banned (another MB) for veiled physical threats to another mod. He has taken it on himself to stalk me. In just one hour He’s emailed me DOZENS of offensive/threatening emails using a hotmail account. I know that if I just put him in my block-list he’ll just change email accounts.
I don’t consider this spamming. I requested him not to email me again and he hasn’t stop. What can I do?
BTW, I am not in the US, he is.
I’d call the US police and report him. If he’s doing it to you, he has probably done it to other people.
I wish I could be of more help, but I don’t know the internet laws very well.
How would he know you’re blocking him. Although if you want to get rid of him, you could foward all his emails to abuse@hotmail.com. If the harassment continues, then get in touch with his ISP.
I told him to stop emailing me and that I was going to put his email in my blocking list. What the OE’s blocking list does is simply put the email in the delete folder. Not good enough.
I have to admit that this is a more annoying than dangerous situation (I hope). We have banned him 10 times in the last two months and countless times before. It is not the first time he threatens bodily harm on the mods and gets insulting and annoying. I reckon pursuing a legal venue might be fruitless and maybe even frivolous. I am really pissed.
It sounds like the best course of action would be to contact his ISP then, and maybe get his account cancelled.
