Whatever you were trying to do, I don’t think it worked. Unless I’m missing something.

Mmmmm

Do I need Windows or something? I’m only seeing squares in Safari, and Firefox is showing rectangles with the hex code in the middle.

I’m using an iPad - with Safari - with eMoji enabled (I think you do it through “languages”).

Both Elwood and My posts (not this one) show special emoticons known as emoji.

Check and see if it is an option for languages or something (or maybe keyboards).

OS X 10.8.4. Working fine in Firefox and Safari. Not working in Chrome and OmniWeb.

I can see most but not all of the little pics in these posts.

America!

I’m on my PC now and don’t see an option (or the emojis - just little boxes).

If you have an iOS device (iPhone/iPad) - you should be able to see them. Some are only viewable in iOS 6.0 and up.

Where do y’all get these emojis from?

They’re visible in OS X 10.8. I don’t know if earlier versions will work.

If you have an iOS device - go to:

Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Add New Keyboard

Pick emoji

Then you will see a globe option on your keyboard - click that and welcome to the party.

I think you need an iOS version that is relatively new - and maybe an iPhone 4 or better, but not sure.

Eta: Woah, my chrome Emoji extension just expanded all those into links, apparently I can’t quote emojis.

Testing quoting on iPad

Aha. This computer is running 10.6.8. I’ll have to look at it again from home.

I use the Chromoji extension, it appears to use a find/replace thing that replaces the characters with html, so when I quote posts I get this (spoilered for length):

Whoops, that didn’t work.

:+1::+1:

What exactly is this supposed to be? I can’t help but think of a steaming pile
