Just off to pub to watch Scotland v. France. Bit nervous, but am glad to hear the Jean-Alaine Boumsoung is starting - the big donkey!
The grin I’ve got at the moment will likely have to be surgically removed.
Scalpel - check. Anaesthetic - oh well, never mind. Here goes…
Ach you’ll qualify. We’re just setting ourselves up for the inevitable heartbreak.
Well done you Scots, great result.
England still unbeaten but couldn’t manage a goal against Macedonia
Manchester City drew with Sheffield bloody United 0-0.
Still looking on the bright side tha’s 3 games without defeat so far, maybe Pearce lucky mascot is working
Well, my lovely Everton have started the season quite daintily, despite the handicap of having he who shall not be named as manager. Plucky loss to Middlesborough mayhave taken some of the wind out of the sails tho’.
mm
I read that Amy Warnock saw the City mascot on TV and gave her father one of her own cuddly toys to combat the potential Manchester Menace. This gives a new meaning to the expression ‘to toy with the opposition’.
Anyway, while we wait with bated breath for GorillaMan to come in and explain away his team’s dismal performance against West Brom, I’m pleased to report that my new team FC Barcelona are doing rather well in La Liga. I fully expect them to turn over Sevilla at the Nou Camp tonight despite the absence of Puyol and Gio.
Anybody know how Blackpool got on yesterday?
Piss off.
Blackpool drew 1-1 against Yeovil as if you didn’t know.
My word did Ipswich really get stuffed at home 1-5 by The Baggies
Anyway Chez why are you supporting a Spanish team?.
Aint you got any English clubs in Stow?
Come on you white men! 2 -1 at ST James park against Newcastle. Fantastic 3 points, back to 3rd in the league!!
I did the guided tour around the Nou Camp last month just before the season got under way there, and couldn’t see a lot of difference between that and my club’s stadium.
Apart from the car parks, lifts, shops, press facilities, church and museum. Oh yes, and the extra 78000 spectators they can fit in.
And talking about my club, another away win on Saturday but reading the fan’s message boards at least half are still completely disillusioned with the manager. Reports of dressing room rows/factions, and one player (Leon Knight) refusing to travel because he was only going to be on the bench.
Yeah, but they never finished building the roof, did they?
Has to be said that I think the ‘foul’ on Cech was unintended.
The guy has an impacted skull fracture but it’s reported that he’ll live, whether or not he’ll be fit enough to play again is another matter.
Agreed. The headlong sprint by Hunt was just start-of-a-big-match adrenalin. No deliberate contact. But Mourinho has to have something to whinge about.
why is foul in inverted commas? Intentional or not there’s no doubt a foul was committed. The guy has had to have surgery for a farctured skull and will be out for 6 months at the least by all accounts. The Cudicini incident was also accidental in my opinion.
Bleh, good old narcoleptic Titus Shambles at the back, never a dull moment…
Don’t worry though, you won’t be third for long, and there’s more than enough time for you to bottle it and drop out of the European spots altogether (again). Shouldn’t you be supporting Wolves anyway?
There’s doubt in my mind. From what I can make out from Youtube clips, as Cech caught the ball Hunt tried to sidestep away, but was tripped by Cech’s knee and fell onto him. A very unfortunate injury, yes, but not a foul.
