Well, Alan Shearer said it wasn’t a foul and there’s a man who knows quite a bit about the subject.
Having watched it again and again I think the only person who knows what his intention was and that is Hunt. I feel myself though it was an accident, as was the Cudicini one.
To get back to team matters,
it now appears that Mr Knight is presently available for transfer.
Anyone want a proven goalscorer? (20 in 37 games for Swansea).
But as the saying goes, he has had more clubs than Arnold Palmer. It could be the manager is trying to bring him into line with the threat of the tranfer list but with his record of troublemaking I can’t see it working.
Many Swansea fans think it should be the manager that goes, interesting times indeed.
Blackpool showed their commitment to the game by arriving at the ground 10 minutes early.
Coming out of the players tunnel onto the pitch, the Seasiders looked much the better side. They wore their away strip of white shirts and tangerine shorts to good effect and their hairstyles were noticeably superior to those sported by the opposition. In contrast, most of the Crewe players hadn’t even bothered to shave.
The match began in bright sunshine but it started raining after 70 minutes. 10 minutes later Blackpool had a player sent off in controversial circumstances. The referee gave Gillett a second yellow card, probably for having mud on his shorts. The replay suggested that the mud was accidental and the Blackpool manager will appeal the decision with the Football League.
Anyway, from looking like relegation fodder 3 weeks ago the Seasiders are now just 3 points off the top 6 in League 1. If this excellent progress continues I’m convinced that Blackpool will be lifting the Champions League trophy in May, 2010.
Ipswich are on Sky today, which should liven things up no end…
Norwich got a hammering, always nice to see. And I still can’t help but enjoy seeing Colchester succeed…so far this season they’ve seen off Southampton, Derby, Sheffield Weds, Ipswich…they visit Narrrich this week, too…
…although did you see the news afterwards? You can understand Luton being off-par considering Sol Davis was taken to hospital having suffered a stroke on the team bus. Apparently he’s looking at six months out.
Yeah, Mike Newell didn’t say anything until after the game. I’m semi-surprised he didn’t try to postpone it. Good result for Ipswich as it goes, though.
Every shot of him showed him inanimate, which wasn’t what I expected (yes, I was a cheap bastard and stayed at home because it was on Sky). I was already impressed with his sportsmanship with staying on the pitch after the match, doubly so now. He seems to have a “the show must go on” approach, which few people will argue with.
And yeah, great result. OK, so it was against a team which had reasons to not be focussed, but it was also the first time this season that our players have actually known where each other are going to run to.
