English Football (Part 2) how's your team doing

After a really piss poor state of affairs which saw Manchester City being dragged into the relegation zone we have now won 3 on the bounce which should see us safe.

Up to 10th in the Prem

Go you Blues!!

Nahhh. We’ll still see you at Portman Road, one way or t’other. (1-0 over Birmingham! )
Go you Blues!!

:stuck_out_tongue:

3rd in the league, baby! Go Gunners! waves red flag

:sigh:
23[sup]rd[/sup] place in the “first” (which is the second… And now called “Coca Cola”?) league.

What has befallen you, Leeds United? :frowning:

So with the end of the season fast approaching and the wonderful Manchester City in a "fairly " safe position in the premiership it’s time to ask again, “How is your team doing?”

City got to the 6th round of the FA Cup only to fall again as they did last season, also in the 6th.

I notice that the ::ahem:: mighty Leeds have clambered from bottom of the 2nd div to…wait for it…3rd bottom.

It looks as if those rags from mould trafford are gonna win the prem and they’re also in with a chance of the FA Cup and Champions league honours.

If there is a god surely he will not allow this

My first season at Spurs saw Danny Blanchflower’s magnificent team do the double.

I’ve stuck with them since, even though there have only been a few Cup successes since.
But now that nice Mr. Jol has got a very exciting team passing the ball and scoring goals.

Watched City -v- Charlton yesterday.

From the off we battered them, 5 corners in the first 4 minutes.

Did we score? did we bloody hell, still a draw is better than a loss

Last Sunday City played our bitter rivals Man. Utd.

It was the 50th anniversary of the 1958 air crash which killed 23 people including most the the United team.

The gutter press in the weeks preceding the game forecast that City fans would shown disrespect and not observe the minutes silence held before the game, how wrong they were.

Not a sound was heard, I was at the game and believe me the silence was deafening broken only by some fireworks being let off outside the ground in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

United gave free scarves to all who attended and all fans, red or blue, held them aloft during the minutes silence and after the game many fans shook hands in a display of mutual respect.

City won  the first time they had beaten United on their own midden since 1974 and this season we’ve beat them twice, 6 easy points

Nice one, City
Things have started to change for us. Big spending in the transfer market, resulting in the first away win of the season. Followed by the first home defeat, although this was against Watford. Still top 6, though, and beating Palace tonight will make that much more secure.

Last time I went up the Arse, they were still at Highbury entrance was 50p and even the supporters chanted “boring, boring Arsenal”

Times have changed - quite possibly for the better

Yannow summat, since making your acquaintance I’ve made a point of looking for Ipswich results and hoping that Naaaridge? lose.

So in the pecking order it’s:

City

Rochdale…I’m sorry but I lived there for 14 Godless years, if the world had piles, Rochdale Town Centre is where they’d be, along with those bloody stone sheep

The Tractor Boys heh

Thanks for Paul Dickov.

According to Wikipedia he hadn’t scored a goal for two years until he joined Blackpool on loan from Manchester City. He slid in the winner against Leicester in his first game for us and bagged a brace against Hull last Saturday for 3 goals in 2 games. The second at Hull was totally top class.

My prediction for tonight’s game at Bloomfield Road is: Dickov 2 Wolves 1.

You’re welcome mate. FWIW I used to deliver mail to Paul Dickov and a real nice guy he is.

Wouldn’t surprise me if you’re able to sign him permanent at seasons end cuz I don’t think Sven has a place for him in out current side.

BTW: You live in Gloucester and follow The Seasiders?

Sure, it’s my home town team.

It’s a while since I left there but first love never dies. Here’s a quick quiz question for you. Which League football team has the best results performance at the Millennium Stadium? Answer:

Blackpool (Three out of three - 2 LDV Vans Trophies and 1 League Two playoff final).

Impress your friends.

I’m impressed

I can’t think why I felt this thread needed a bump.

Ipswich 2-1 Blackpool

I saw Barnsley knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup this morning. That was worth a bump. Isn’t there a fan about somewhere?

Hope you noticed that Dickov, (what a fucking name that is) City player on loan to Blackpool scored his 4th goal in 3 games.

Anyways, well done the tractor boys  , pity the red buggers won :frowning:

I did notice that Dickov had scored. More importantly  our new Macedonian guy played well, if he carries on like this we could be hammering in the goals.
