Neener neener neener, nyah nyah, we’ve got no snow and it’s perfectly sunny out today!
OK, so we’re all freezing our arses off. Big deal, right?
(Yeah, if you could stow me in your luggage for that trip to Florida now, Choosy…?)

I don’t know about your local one but our local groundhog came out last Feb 2 and said ‘Early Spring’.
LIAR!
I wonder what groundhog tastes like?
You know, the bugs really aren’t that big a deal here…
You know what the worst part about Boston area winters is? Not the snow, that’s just local flavor. It’s those “Charlie from Aruba” commercials 1030AM insists on playing while I’m slowly creeping my way home from work:
Hello, this is Charlie from Aruba. Normally it is 86, but today it’s a chilly 85. If I owned a sweater I would go looking for it. But since I live in Aruba I don’t own a sweater.
So nice to listen to as I wait for the heater to kick in.
The Raleigh Durham NC area is looking better and better to me. Yes I know they get snow, but it’s can’t be as bad as Southern NH. (I live in that belt that goes from Worcester to Portsmouth and gets extra snow… all the New England dopers know it well from the weather maps. (The ones that always get the numbers wrong, but it’s all relative.)
Anyone know how to go about a relocation? (IT guy if it helps)

Yep. Last night was a real old-fashioned New England mull-the-cider, build the fire, and play computer games while the wind howls evening.
I have to admit, I've done about all the XC skiing I really need to do this season. Wouldn't mind getting the kayak out of the garage and tooling around Plum Island Sound. But the wind is currently gusting 35 mph and it's about 40 degrees cooler than ideal kayaking temperature, so I guess I'll put it off for a couple of months.
Choosy – you probably don’t want to be looking at the extended forecast right now…
Seriously…
bugs vs. blizzard
I’ve got a can of Raid! Oddly, we got snow in Atlanta on March 1st. When I woke up the ground was covered with a pretty, light dusting of snow. It was gone by 10AM and I didn’t have to scrape anything off my car or out of my driveway.
I heart the South. It’s almost beach-time.
Read this. It’ll make you feel better.
we lost power for 6 hours last night=) was snuggle in front of the woodstove reading by lanternlight and enjoying homemade soup=)
I’m kinda weird. I love the cold weather, but hate the snow. I have thought of moving to New England simply for the weather - but ye gods, the snow!
Ah well, spring is coming.
sure, trouble again, suuuuuure. i’ve heard that one and something about swamp land.
jaade, these flying, yep, FLYING!!! insects wave their antenna in a most welcoming manner as the gentle mists of raid settle about them. then they open up and fly toward the shell less being that gently misted them, hoping for more of the cooling moisture.
blizzards kill these winged horrours. i welcome the blizzard. the more snow, the less bugs.
snow is good. the ice skating rink that philly became yest. was not so good. today was the first day i had to break out the yak trax this winter. that’s not too bad winterwise.
the flower show is going on now… that is a brief glimpse of the wonder of spring to arrive… sometime in late may, i believe.
