Serious question about Hoshi:
In the pilot, did it appear that Archer knew Hoshi
TARS! Sit down! NOT in the Biblical sense! Calm yourself! Get a GRIP, man!
Dammit.
Did Archer know Hoshi previously to meeting with her while she taught the language class? I wonder of she had served under him
TARS! Down boy!
Before or if he simply knew of her as the best linguist.
All jokes aside, it’s very good. Perhaps due to Jeffrey Combs and Susie Plakston . There’s even a plot twist. I don’t think the dog has any air time. There is series plot development that has nothing to do with time travel.
Baklula still can’t act.
Ambasador Soval still looks like Mick Jagger. Mrs. Plant says it’s the lips.
Glad to hear it’s not so rotten… I’ll take ya’ll’s word for it and plunk myself down in front of the tube, tonight, expecting to be thrilled and spilled. Or something.
A few notes of interest:
Susie Plakston is now, and always will be, “Susie Plankton” in my mind. I imagine her as a delightful little microscopic sea creature. My mind is a wild and crazy place, I’ll tell ya.
Yay for Archer fighting a girl - one thing I hate about TV fight scenes is that they so often have girls only fight girls, and fellas only fight fellas. Mix it up, I say!
I want to see Porthos fight the Panda. Betcha Panda wins. Porthos is such a puss.
carni (re: Hoshi) - In the pilot, I got the impression that Archer new her fairly well… And who’s the say just how well, hmmm? wink, wink
Chill out, [b[Tars**, I’m just funnin’ ya. I’m sure Hoshi’s saving herself for you (that fling on Risa aside).
Ha ha ha… Did you see it when Archer told Blue Tits to drop her weapon, her antennae went straight up?!? Like 'hands up!" That really got me.
OK, a little bit of a war message, what with the talk of disarming and inspections, but nothing heavy handed like last week.
Yes, Trip did an excellent job as temp in charge. Very good.
The Ambassador was too Billy Bob, didn’t you see Bandits? A good piece of dialogue between Ambass and T’Pol. Explains a bit more about her character in the Vulcan/Human scheme of things. Also, these Vulcans seemd more Vulcanny than the last 19 eps. Me likey.
A nit with myself from a previous thread. They definitely said “Star Fleet” in this ep, referring to Human High Command. So, Star Fleet predates The Federation.
A 4.3 second teaser for next week’s ep didn’t help me at all. Will check ENT page.
Not the best it could’ve been, but so so SOOOOO much better than the last few.
The credits on the Canadian satellite have the theme music and star field video. The WSBK credits had an orange background, adverts for UPN shows and the credits in the corner.
What do your credits look like, and which station were you watching?
Oh the memories…
I can’t wait till a stuffed panda shows up in Hoshi’s room or someone notices a panda picture on someones desk and we have huge speculations about whether is a coincidence or not. Then I can brag to all my friends.
For the record I get ENT on CKEM. Never get any previews for the next episode.
My poor, poor friends. We were all, well, not all, some, ok, a few, wait, just 3, and myself (so that’s 4, no?) out to eat early this evening. Los Pericos, really yummy Mexican food, not TexMex, real Mex, well, not real Mex either, but more Mex than TexMex or CaliMex. I love the chili verde sauce. And mole. SA - LUTE! Well, anyhoo, or should that be who? Maybe hue? AnywayZZ, we were all (see above) just relaxing after said meal, funny phrase, “said.” Makes me laugh. Many things make me laugh. But not clowns. Clowns scare me. And suddenly, I say (I say, old chap!), “I need to get home so I can watch Enterprise online with Tars Tarkas and Carniverousplantguywithtendrils and all the rest of The Gang (includleling the kidilies {really old Data joke }) at The Dope!”
My friends think I’m odd. They are officially worried.
Dude. I liked this episode. I hope the Andorians didn’t put too much effort into making that place livable, though. It didn’t exactly scream prime real estate. I’ve missed a number of recent episodes. Has “Tactical Alert” always just involved turning on a red light? Phlox’s part was pretty weak, I think. “Be careful, okay? There, my excellent advice will save your life.” But that’s okay; he’s had enough big parts. I think he should publish a 10-volume book, “Alien Diseases, Pathogens, Carcinogens, and Other Nasties that Screw Over Humans but Vulcan Physiology Appears to be Immune To”.
Just finished watching it, and was very pleased. It’s so much better than last ep that they could have been from different series. It’s still not as good as it could have been, but at least I won’t be comparing it with Voyager.
Good things:
Trip demonstrating his large, brassy ones. It’s one thing to position the ship like that in TNG, where your ship can hold its own. Trip did it on sheer guts.
Archer not only fighting a chick, but getting slammed through a floor by a chick. Maybe she was trying to knock some acting skills into him.
Soval provided a kind of “Agent Smith” vibe in one of the better Vulcan performances I’ve seen in the series, and his chat with T’Pol was good for background.
At this point, I actually have some hope that the writers have a plan for the formation of the Federation, and that the Vulcan-Andorian conflict is a springboard for it. Presumably, the same events will have a profound impact on Vulcan culture. Shran and Soval are being established as representatives of their people–which is good because I like both characters. It’s not a lot of hope, but it’s there.
Blue boobs. I would have preferred sapphire blue, but I’m not too picky–I’ll take whatever the panda has in stock.
In other news, I just read that they’ve finished shooting on the episode “Horizon”, which is going to be centered on <gasp> Travis. Hopefully, he’ll actually have some lines in it.
