carnivorousplant, welcome to the world of 4 digit post count threads!
I have a friend in England that might be getting me an autograph of Nicole de Boer after I asked her once. How many times have I asked for an autograph of Linda Park from viva? And do I have one? No.
I now see who my true friends are.
You have friends?
Did that take you the full eight hours to come up with? :dubious:
No, Mother makes me go to bed earlier than you posted.
She dresses you funny too.
I always wear my Starfleet uniform.

sigh 'Splanations follow:
L. Park doesn’t do a lot of cons. She did the Vegas one recently, yes, but I had no one to go with and I’m not about to drive over there alone.
If you want her auto’d photo, WRITE to her! Enclose a 9x12 SASE, sit back and wait several months. They don’t deliver the mail very often at Paramount, so it will take her at least that long just to see it, then sit down and do the work.
And just who is it who sends you all those videotapes? Hmmmmmm?
:dubious:
How often are there conventions in Vegas? I’m about two thousand miles closer to the place now (but still a good thousand miles away) and I’d like an excuse to see the place one of these days. And the Star Trek Experience would be cool.
We should have a TrekDope there one of these days. ^:dubious:^
They have several a year there, at the Las Vegas Hilton. My brother was there a few weeks ago and we can both vouch for the ST Experience being well worth the trip. He went on the Nemesis room special, which includes admissions to both attractions now (he says the Borg one is creepy while the other is more of a fun ride) and some nice chow at Quark’s Bar.
I believe they have a con or two in your state, but not very often. They also are having one in Toronto soon.
One of my coworkers did the Vegas thing.
I think we’re both fairly easily amused, cause we giggled for a whole morning over the “smorgasborg”
There was a convention in Portland earlier this month but it was a general sci-fi/memoralbia convention instead of a Trek one so I didn’t go. It did offer breakfast with Walter Koenig though, so I thought about it. He and George Takei were always my favorite TOS actors.
What’re the prices like for the Trek Experience? How much would I need to take with me to make a good weekend of it?
Hmmm…Check the Las Vegas Hilton website for that info. Methinks it must be more than eight bucks per attraction (original and new extra krispy Borg), but I’m not certain.
On another note: Would anybody really want a Quantum Sleeper??? http://www.qsleeper.com/
It looks like a damn coffin.

$35 for both attractions. Not so bad. Of course, that in addition to either the gas money or plane ticket to get there, the money to rent a hotel room, and the latinum required to eat and imbibe (I have to have a Romulan ale) at Quark’s and buy some trinkets on the Promenade will probably push it up quite a bit.
And I would prefer to sleep in a cellular regeneration and entertainment chamber, if you don’t mind.
$35?? I was rather hoping a room special would pull that rate down. My bro went on the Nemesis special and I don’t think they paid that figure.
I didn’t check to see what the discount rates would be for staying at the Hilton as I’d probably stay at some cheaper hotel if I could. All I would want is a clean bed to sleep in and a clean bathroom with functioning plumbing. A luxury hotel is just not worth the money to me.
Of course, it’d be different if I had someone to go with. Want to meet up and share some quarters?
I don’t care if you guys are talking about hotels, my thread has twenty one pages?
Oh, that kn*ckers could see this…
I wish she could, too.
