Okay, in Season One of Ent., I thought Trip mentioned a nephew. I don’t know if he mentioned a brother or sister as the parent of said nephew.
Continued: In “The Expanse,” Trip comes in to ask Archer if he knows what part of Florida was struck. He then mentions that “she may have been away. Architects take a lot of trips.”
Archer turns around and asks, “Older or younger?”
Trip replies: “My baby sister.”
This is where the confusion starts. Archer seems to be implying that Trip has an older sister and a younger one. Yet he doesn’t know which one his friend of ten frikkin’ years is talking about? Don’t they know each other’s families by now?
Well, maybe not. But saying “older or younger” is an odd way to ask about your pal’s siblings.
Wait, there’s more: In “The Xindi,” Phlox tells T’Pol, “Trip had one sister.” Does this mean he has one sister and one brother, or just one sibling?
This isn’t really on topic but I didn’t take Archer’s “Older or younger?” line as him asking which sibling it was but rather if the sibling was older or younger, as if he didn’t even know he had one.
It’s not like they go way back. [i[First Flight* seemed to imply their relationship began then.
Re^mem>ber the Alien sex scene? Tripp says he has 14 sisters.
Okay, that was alie.
But First Flight also seemed to imply that he was the oldest child. The oldest male, at least. He expla*u=ined “Tripp” as Charles Tucker THE THIRD. Hence, “Tripp” for triple.
Dearest NCB: But they do go back a ways. Ten or eleven years. This was mentioned in “Unexpected” when Ah’Lenn reads Trip’s thoughts and knows that Archer saved his life five years earlier; and in “Strange New World,” when Archer reminds Trip of the Omega Training Mission they were on together several years back.
Aes: yes, that’s the issue. I’ve got friends I haven’t even known that long and I know quite a bit about their families and other friends. It just strikes me as odd that two guys who’ve known each other so long and been through so much wouldn’t know such fundamental things.
Tars: Ah, yes. So is that Lizzie’s kid in Ireland? She lives in Florida. Either they moved, or he’s in boarding school, or there is another sibling.
The last time I tried that, I ended up overloading the quantum destabilization matrix inhibitors and set up a standing plasma wave in the ambivulent bivationary falvebarms.
