Hehehe. Actually, I was on the West side of the border. And it was not warmer there. So I moved to Boston.
Maybe not the best choice…

I love it when that happens.
Next week I’ll start the
Kn(CP)ckers thread, ‘Canadians Welcome’.
^:)^
I too thought Reed was going to come out of the closet.
Reed:“I’m afraid I’m a poof, Sir, A great dissapointment to the family, don’t you know. Not the Royal Navy sort of thing at all.”
Archer: “Trip, could you come out here and help Mal…er, Mr. Reed?”
I didn’t mind this one too much. And I just saw the preview for Dead Stop, and yep the Enterprise still has a chomp out of it. Good for the creators.
But that damned cloak… I’m sure that the Cloak was a surprise in Balance of Terror, and the information on the Romulan Star Empire was sketchy at best from the war between Earth and the Romulans. It was supposedely fought with “conventional nuclear weapons”.
Continuity feh who needs it?
Well, they had their sonar thingie to detect Suliban Cloaks, maybe the Suliban got the cloaks from the future, so cloaks are no longer a surprise. The ships were using different style cloaks than the mines, so maybe a method is developed to detect the Rommie cloaks that renders them useless, with no comparative cloaking technology to counter the new detection systems until the 23rd century.
Oh, and i give it 7/10
Well, dip me in batter and fry me up with bacon.
Actual continuity with a recognizable throughline. I’m rather pleasantly surprised. Maybe this is the first sign of an uptick from the inoffensive but increasingly relentless “average-ness” of the show. Can we hope?
If you insist…

Well, there was the three episode “Risa Arc” so there is presedent. Hopefully this show can be what Voyager should have been, [sub](but with Hoshi…)[/sub]
Yeah, just like Lucas is doing with the Star Wars prequals!
'Sok - at the end of the series, they can just bring back Crewman Daniels to take them back in time and un-screw up all the continuity errors. He sure is a useful guy!
I think I’m going to start making predictions. I’ve been making ** Firefly ** predictions, so I think it’s time for ** Enterprise ** to get some of that love:
My prediction for this week - Archer’s toes get fused together! Oh, no! How will he keep his balance in the climactic tightrope scene?? It will be an exciting one, alright!
On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t make predictions…
Kn(have you had your medicine?)ckers
** CP ** : Maybe I had too much of it…

I finally saw “Minefield” last night, and I really enjoyed it, especially the defusing scene. I thought it was cool that we got to see some slow, detailed technical work instead of the usual blasting with phasers action sequence. I also liked the conversation between Malcolm and the Captain. Malcolm did object to the “chit chat” at one point, but the Captain overruled him. All good, except…
Why, oh why did they not just amputate Malcolm’s leg? There was no need for the big martyr speech when Malcolm was not in danger of losing his life, just his leg at most (and as was pointed out upthread, amputation has been a major TV theme this season – ick, what’s next?) All they had to do was have Phlox climb out, increase the anesthetic, and perform the procedure. This is done in rescue situations all the time. There was even an emergency amputation done to rescue a boy from the Cyprus structure after the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. Was there any explanation as to why letting Malcolm float off into space was preferable to amputation (particularly when prosthetics are pretty good now, and can only be improved in the future)?
Did you bring enough for everyone?
Always quote.
Kn(did you bring enough for everyone?)kers
Suddenly, Circus of the Stars breaches the Star Trek Universe…
Hm… how would you amputate a leg in the vacuum of space?
oh, how I’m mocked…
You think it’s funny, ** Tars ** , but just wait until you see how truly dramatic and emotional it gets! I expect to see this exchange:
Archer: I’m going out there. T’Pol, you have the bridge.
Tucker: That’s insane, Cap’n! With your toe condition, you can’t expect to make it across the spanning cable to the aft farthing deck! I should go!
Archer: I need you here - someone’s got to feed the dancing bears.
** CP ** : Plenty to go around. Mmm, drugs.
Kn(It’s okay! They’re *FDA approved!)ckers

I’d get Jayne to shoot it off with an oxygen requiring rifle.

That came out ugly. In case anyone’s wondering (which you probably aren’t), I did not mean for ** CP ** to be delivering the next line in the scene, I was just trying to indicate whom I was talking to.
Someday, I’ll be less lazy, and actually quote.
But not today.
** Drewbert ** : You might have to modify the deflector dish to do that. I bet you could get it to reverse the polarity of the deuteron field that’s holding his leg together. Just a suggestion.
