Enterprise: The Andorian Incident (warning, slight spoiler)

Huh. Of course, we know from Star Trek: First Contact that Data can lie, so maybe Data was lying when he said that Vulcans can’t lie.

I thought Saavik was pretty hot, actually. Regrettably, she never required disinfection or anything.

Yes, I suppose they can be. Look at the earliest example we have of Vulcan femininity, T’pring. She was kinda smokin’, in her own way.

I can hear the hairsplitting starting, so let me prempt it. Yes, T’Pau was the first Vulcan female seen, but T’Pring was there soon after. And hey, T’Pau looked pretty good for a woman in her third century.

She was over 200, wasn’t she? I doubt canon speaks on her exact age.

I think blowing up the stone face was the right idea. If the team missed even one Andorian by shooting through the eyes (maybe didn’t even see them), the Andorian would run off and the hostages would be toast.

But by blowing up the face, they get to shoot at some very confused Andorians, and have a way to chase after them if any get away.

That is true. IIRC wasn’t T’Pring wearing an “I dream of Jeannie” type costume? Imagine that sort of garb on T’Pol. Zowee!

I seem to remember hearing that T’Pol from Enterprise was supposed to be T’Pau from TOS. Anyone else hear this rumor?

Yeah, I saw an interview transcript. Berman said they canned it. I suppose it gives them a little more freedom. T’Pau as a series regular could never be in any real risk, since she has to be alive for Spock’s wedding, and any established or implied backstory would have to be respected.

We also saw three instances of Vulcan lies in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. And not only do they lie, they lie about lying. Vulcans should be interested in exploration? Vulcans males should be as resiliant as Spock? Vulcan females should be unattractive? It’s that kind of racist generalization that I hope survives into the 22nd century. I was hoping to find out more about the Vulcans with this series. For me, that means when I see something I don’t expect, I’m not going to complain about it just because I would have done it differently.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Spock, a Vulcan in the military, to be harder to topple than a Vulcan monk. Also, why would someone assume that being a hybrid would dilute Spock’s Vulcan strength? Maybe Spock is heterotic.

Judging from the online plot synopsis of next episode, I’d say we may see just what T’Pol is up to.

Actually, from some of the fan fiction, he seems to come out homo-erotic!

Maybe you need a new TV? Hoshi has a sexy episode every time she shows up on screen!

Of course you mean All Our Yesterdays.

Alpha geek my ass!

oh, wow, a geek battle!
oh, and according to the trek-rumor sites, Jeffery Combs will be back as the Andorian guy in a few weeks!

I’m thinking more along the lines of an episode with Hoshi in the decontamination chamber, but ya, even with her clothes on, Hoshi’s pretty hot! Maybe it was the “Fight or Flight” episode that I got to thinking that way. Something about her vulnerability that I found irresistable.

[sub]ok, who’s the Alpha geek now?[/sub]

Yeah! i want to rub some of that blue goo on Hoshi!
And don’t despair, all, Ed teaches us that the geek will inherit the Earth!

WHICH Saavik? Kirstie Alley or the other one?

Did anyone else notice that the Andorian episode was directed by Roxanne (B’Elanna Torres) Dawson?

IMO, no. But Kim Cattrall in ST: VI? Hoochie-mama!

It looks like tomorrow’s episode–sorry, ain’t got no cite–will involve not just a comet but also the Vulcans again, and T’Pol may have some ‘splainin’ to do. At least, that’s what I got from the notes in the television guides. We’ll see.

Geeking on,

Viva

Ah yes, the slash subculture. I’m sure there must be some A/T slash going on already.

I see all.

“Originally.”

http://www.epguides.com is a great site to keep up with your favorite TV series. Here is their Enterprise page. Apparently, the Andorians come back in February (“Shadows of P’Jem”).

My favorite episode so far!!

My only gripe: Wouldn’t the Andorians see the flashlights through the eye holes? I mean, you can’t miss when three dark holes suddenly appear back-lit.
