Entourage Season Finale (open spoilers)

So no one wants to talk about this!? I mean seriously, Jeremy Piven wins an Emmy for his role and we don’t have a thread about this?

THEY FUCKING FIRED ARI!!! I’m in a state of shock. He lost them the movie and he got fired, but he can’t be gone from the show. I’m convinced that he’s going to get Vince back, it’s just a question of how.

And what job is he going to find for Dana? I think she gets brought into MGA. I knew they had to be setting her up to get a bigger part in the show, though before this episode I was convinced that it was an affair with Ari. Which isn’t out of the realm of possibility…

I never would have picked Lloyd as a pitcher, quite interesting. His character has really come alive and become an integral part of the show, I think he does a fantastic job as the sort of foil to Ari’s raging asshole.

Martin Landau has been brilliant in the role of Bob, I like how we saw him come in with his visions of his hey-day and how they crumbled as the real world crushed that vision. And how, ultimately, he was ultimately saddened by the realization that the Magic of Hollywood was gone and was replaced by the enterprise and money.

Also I found it very interesting how they went out of their way to show how every agency was the same, and yet they shifted as many big name corporations as possible with none of them overlapping. Another unfortunate example of corporate placement overriding story. If only MGA hadn’t done the same and Ari had made this a one on one, we’d all be okay and we could wait for next season with peace in our hearts. But no, they need drama to get us hooked and eager for more.

Now I just have to wait. DAMN.

This is the first season finale where Vince isn’t going out with a new movie in the works

I don’t want to wait until January or whenever the new eps come out!

At least we can all be confident Ari isn’t gone for good.

When Ari turned on the TV screen and I saw that first company logo come up, my friends that came over to watch and I all groaned. Ari picked the worst thing he could have done and did it.

I don’t think Ari’s gone mostly b/c this storyline (ari trying to win back Vince) could lead to some great Ari moments - maybe he will try sucking up to Turtle and Drama to get to Vinny that way or he’ll pander to Eric, stuff like that.

I had heard they shot some scenes at a Lakers game earlier this year, but didnt see any of them this season. Maybe next year, which hopefully will include Dana Gordon (played by the taaaaaaaaasty Constance Zimmer) working with or for Ari, will show those scenes.

Eric is starting to get to me - I don’t think Kevin Connolly is a very good actor. Wooden performances week after week, w the possible exception of the threesome episode. It doesn’t help that when you see pictures of him at events like the Entourage premiere, he’s dwarfed by his girlfriend (one of the hilton sisters) and he always has this smug smirk on his face.

My favorite moment in the finale was the look of surprise from Ari when Lloyd told him he’s a top. ‘Really?’ That was great.

OMG, I so agree with that. Kevin Connolly is by far the worst actor on the show.
Your right, he’s a smug little twerp.

Great Lloyd episode. He’s really funny.

Ari isn’t going to be gone because he’s pretty much the star of the show.

The quiz in Trunk-land this weekend was: does the season end with another rough spot patched up and Vince getting the role, or did Ari fuck this one up too royally?

Good finale. Good season.

They had one. I don’t remember which episode it was but they were courtside.

I really loved this episode.

I’ve always looked at Vince as a stand in for DiCaprio, with Aquaman being his Titanic. Now I think it would be interesting if they tracked Vince from rising superstar to celebrity but not a real Hollywood powerhouse. I know a lot of the fun for people is the ridiculous Hollywood lifestyle portrayed on the show but I think there is just as much comedy gold to be mined from Vince falling to b level status. Especially if the let Drama’s show get picked up and his career gets healthy.

Trunk: I just don’t see how he can reclaim this movie, I think it’s gone. It’s up to him to show Vince he does care and that this lesson taught him something about business and about clients. He opened the new firm, but it’s his job to stop it from being like everyone else.

I like the logo for MGA though, it’s sexy.

As for Kevin Connoly, I agree that he is pretty wooden. I think Dana should be Vince’s new manager (including necessary nude scenes).
