On the left of each board, there are little envelopes. If there are new posts in a thread, they are orange. No new posts = gray. Locked = a padlock. But down on the bottom of each main page there is a gizmo that looks like it has two H letters in it. Why don’t they use this? It says it is for threads that have more than 15 posts. Just curoius.
The version on the UBB board was detested.
Almost noone liked them.
We all thought they were intrusive.
So, presumably, when the board switched to VBoard, they decided to disable that thingie, so we wouldn’t have to do all that over again…
On other board systems, the “envelope” or “folder” is flaming and the little flames dance around.
General consensus was that sucked, so we disbled it.
We also don’t particularly need it anyway.

Is there a way to mark a board as “read” without having to read every post?
I’m finding it hard to figure out what I’ve read or not. Is there a trick to this? I’m spoiled because on other boards I’ve been to, you can usually mark the boards as read and keep a ‘subscription’ list so to speak.
So what’s the trick?

At the risk of sounding like a pest…
Does anyone have an answer for me on this one?
This board doesn’t keep track of your visits to a particular forum or thread, nor how much of the thread you actually read. It simply bases the color of the envelopes and such on your last visit time. You can see this on the main forum page just above the top of the list.
The colors don’t change because you read a thread as some boards do. You are pretty much on your own keeping track of what you’ve read and not read. The colors help by letting you know there has been a new post since the last time you visited.
Hope that helps a little.
Jim
