Jodi, I don’t disagree. But I can also tell he’s getting/ about to get his heart shredded and its almost painful to watch/read. He does need to hear these things in a ‘rip the band-aid off fast’ approach to accepting that he’s being used in this relationship. His trouble stems from his emotions not letting his head accept the logical solution to end the relationship now… or that a weekend of emotional pain now is still better than the pain and humiliation he’ll go through down the road. He just can’t see that the conversation “Honey, how come that diamond ring I bought you is in the pawnshop? And why are all my credit cards maxed out…?” is coming and sooner than he thinks.
