Epstein Files => Trump Impeachment & Conviction?

The survivors who had their names and personal information unredacted should have a pretty easy suit. And if trump can sue for billions when his tax info was leaked (and nobody really gave a fuck afaict), these women should have a good case. I think Bondi and trump deliberately unredacted not expecting much blowback, as per usual- just more trump bullshit.

From the Epstein Files Transparency Act:

So Bondi had an option to redact, but, arguably, not a legal obligation.

Also, suing the government runs up against sovereign immunity issues.

I’m not predicting which side wins these lawsuits. But I do predict it will not be easy for the plaintiffs.

I’d be surprised if there are literally zero laws protecting the privacy of sexual abuse victims, especially those who were minors, outside of that Act.

The primary idea of the Epstein Files Transparency Act is to throw away the normal protections given to innocent people whose names crop up in investigations without there being probable cause.

I’m not saying the publicized victims have no case. I just do not see a clear requirement that victim names be redacted. Congress passed a new bill saying it was optional. Doesn’t that override older laws?

A new law that says that “The attorney general may redact” does not override any previous laws that requires redaction.

Emphasis mine:

“Terrifying language in the Epstein Files I viewed yesterday,” the Colorado Republican posted to X on Wednesday. “Emails about torture. Frequent talk of ‘consumption’? A restaurant called ‘The Cannibal.’

The Justice Department has not indicated that the files support claims of cannibalism or ritualistic abuse by Epstein or his associates. References to “The Cannibal” refer to a real restaurant, according to multiple fact‑checkers.

Please assure me that this is not to be taken literally; like a ‘cannibal sandwich’ is raw ground beef and not raw ground human. The DoJ ‘has not indicated’ whether the files support claims of cannibalism? That doesn’t seem as strong a statement as ‘The files do not support claims of cannibalism or ritualistic abuse.’

I mean, certainly nobody was eaten on Epstein’s properties; nor were there ‘snuff films’ made. But you put a bunch of unrestrained sickos together for decades, and ‘certainly’ no longer sounds so certain.

The claim is coming from Lauren Boebert, do you really need us to reassure you it isn’t true?

It isn’t.

I have been assured that Lauren Boebert, not being a Demoncrat or lieberal, is a reliable source of information by conservative media therefore;
Donald Trump’s Justice Department has concealed files that support claims of cannibalism and ritualistic abuse by Epstein and/or his associates which include Donald Trump.

Please note that my style of rhetoric often includes sarcasm and hyperbole. (I thought everyone knew that already.)

It’s probably not ever safe to assume that “everyone” here recognizes you, much less your posting style. There’s always a significant chance that someone will take what you think is clearly a sarcastic, hyperbolic, or satirical post literally.

What??? Inconceivable!

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

There was no cannibalism on Epstein’s island. Absolutely none, and when I say none, I mean there was a certain amount.

To be fair, Trump only eats baby when puppy and kitten are not on the menu.

It certainly bears looking into.

But what if they are subjected to all of that scrutiny, expense, and damage to their social standings, and nothing is found? :stuck_out_tongue:

I understand that human meat is generally termed “long pig”.

I don’t believe that it was on the menu.

The Andrew Formerly Known as Prince has been arrested for passing classified information to Epstein during his time as a trade envoy.

Perhaps this means the speculation about Epstein running a honey trap operation on behalf of some spy agency or another were correct.

I’m sure Andrew has nothing to worry about, right @DrDeth ?

This thing is just going to drag on. Criminal charges will mostly not come about. But even the victims will rarely get anything. Maybe some out of court settlements we will never hear of. Too bad Michael Cohen does not work for Trump anumore. He would be employed for all of Trump stuff. Fortunately for Trump he will be in a nursing home and incoherent by 2028.
