Epstein Files => Trump Impeachment & Conviction?

You’re thinking in transactional terms.

Andrew gave Epstein the info because Epstein was was his friend. Epstein was everybody’s friend - that was his M.O. He was fun and helpful and showed everyone a good time, so when he asked you to do him a little favor, nothing big, you did it without asking questions. It was just friends looking out for friends.

So, just plain stupid then.

If you were the kind of person who didn’t see a problem with being friends with a guy like Epstein, and if you lived your life without suffering consequences for anything, then you’d probably give him the information, too. It’s not stupidity, just privilege and amorality.

And provided freebies of various kinds

As friends do.

People in that world need to bring more than just a bottle of wine to the party.

Weren’t they close friends?

Why would Andrew even possess classified information as a figurehead prince? Does the royal family have that kind of access?

Andrew at the time was holding a “day job” as a trade representative ( after having pensioned off the Navy) and as trade rep he would have access to “insider information” that it would be illegal to provide preferentially to an interested private party for personal benefit. Thus his arrest for malfeasance in a public office.

More detail on the trade/documents issue:

From what I gather, Andrew was appointed as a trade envoy for the UK on the advice of Lord Mandelson, friend of Epstein and former ambassador to the US until he was thrown out of this role recently. His title was “special representative for international trade and investment”

(then) Prince Charles objected to this, but was overruled by the Queen.

Come on. Black mail. Just like Trump went through. Why do you suppose he had all those top secret documents in a bathroom that had a freaking copy machine in it.

And they wanted to continue to be invited to the ‘parties’. It was a rape club.

Not Trump, but at least some small consequences for a buddy of Epstein.

Seems like this should be more widely reported.
NPR: “Justice Department withheld and removed some Epstein files related to Trump

Iago " "Oh, there’s a big surprise! That’s an incredib… I think I’m gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise!"

I know I predicted this some time ago, perhaps in this very thread

I see it at CNN, MSNOW, and Politico.

Other media is surely trying to confirm this NPR “exclusive” and will then put out stories.

I agree it should be widely reported. Quickly reported – not necessarily.

This absolutely needs to be a story Democrats hammer again and again until the truth comes out. Information that Donald Trump tried to sexually force a 13 year old girl, she bit him, and then he punched her, was illegally removed from the Epstein files by this DoJ.

Every time a Democrat goes on TV they need to bring this up. “This President tried to force a 13 year old girl sexually, and then punched her when she resisted.” Democrats need to try to imagine what Republicans would do for such an allegation against Obama and do that. As nasty as this stuff is, it works politically. Trump is a rapist, a child-sexual assaulter, and a child-puncher. And this DoJ, and this Republican Congress, are trying to cover it up.

Whatever is in there, Republicans are covering it up, not merely trying to. And my Democratic senator, Durbin, seems to be having a mighty yawn over it. Seriously, I’m in Chicago-ish where I believe Senator Durbin’s protestations would be reported, and I don’t recall hearing anything from him.

He’s also a short-timer, and this is his last year in office. I kind of feel that he’s just trying to not rock the boat.

The files take down another non-American big shot:
