Epstein Files => Trump Impeachment & Conviction?

There’s a lot of Norway going on there. The crown princess is implicated along with other highly placed Norwegians.

I’d also note that female representation in Scandinavian countries tends to be higher.

Norway is at 44%, for example:

The US is listed as 29%.

Is there a Pit thread for Epsteinian creeps?

Not yet, though there is a brand new (active) one for a specific Epstein acquaintance, and it’s probably fair game for others in the files who are now suffering some sort of reputational and/or legal harm.

By the midterms the shock will be over. Will the Epstein files being hammered lower people’s grocery bills or stop ICE? If people were rational the Files would be useful.

I could not agree more. They need to be relentless. The only wrinkle I’d add is, “Just as we thought, there’s a cabal of sexual predators who preyed on children. Now we know Trump was part of it!”

IOW, play to the firmly held MAGA belief in the cabal of evil, don’t only harp on Trump. Part of the reason this story won’t die is how foundational the conspiracy aspect is to his base.

That is not quite true- "trump ALLEGEDLY tried to force a 13 year old girl sexually, and then punched her when she resisted.” Allegations are not proof, sometimes not even evidence. Now in the light of other evidence, this seems more likely, sure.

As i predicted.

Political rhetoric isn’t a court of law. This is a knife fight for the republic. For democracy itself. Call him a fucking child rapist and don’t apologize for it.

trump has many cheap lawyers who would tie them up in the courts endlessly.

Or what, he’ll lose his pension? Folks like these should be rocking the boat most of all.

If he sues, he would have to answer discovery and sit for a deposition.

So you think. Just filing those lawsuits is a tool in of itself. trump has filed at least 1600 lawsuits- involved in nearly 6000. How many times has he sat in discovery? Many suits never get that far.

Who cares? I don’t buy it - he’d fear discovery. But even if he did sue, so what? What’s to be afraid of?

That kind of fear is just pathetic, IMO. This is not the politics of the late 20th century. It’s a knife fight. No rules, no mercy.

You can actually be arrested for not using “allegation” or similar. it is a crime in some states- do you think trump wouldnt make sure that is done?

“I learned long ago, never wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.”

I don’t believe this - certainly not without a cite. And that pig quote has been proven false again and again. The old way is the way to lose. It’s a different world, and the rules are out the window.

Like – I dunno – illegal immigrants catching and eating people’s pets? The 2020 election was stolen? Venezuelans in motorboats are smuggling tons of drugs into the US? Allegations without evidence are the MAGAts meat and potatoes.

Honestly, I would not be surprised that if the entire files were made public, a number of Democrat upper echelon names will show up. Prosecute them too.

It does happen, but it’s rare. I’m going to spoiler all this because I know it’s not totally relevant to this particular topic.

Summary

Nearly half the states in the US have criminal statutes for defamation. For a list, see here:

United States defamation law - Wikipedia

But it is exceedingly rare for anyone to be prosecuted for it. A little more information here:

Robert Frese was charged twice for defamation in New Hampshire, which happened as recently as 2018.

Frese vs. State of New Hampshire - ACLU of New Hampshire

It was appealed by the ACLU to the Supreme Court, who chose not to take the case.

Frese v. Formella - SCOTUSblog

Basically, while it’s possible, it’s so rare it’s probably not even worth consideration.

The Justice Department admitted Thursday that it yanked a file from the tranche of Jeffrey Epstein’s emails that contains a photo of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick alongside the convicted sex offender on the late financier’s notorious Caribbean island.

The truth finds its way out eventually.

Which is why no human has ever killed a pig.

You generally don’t wrestle a pig to death.
