Not with that attitude you don’t. I remain agog to learn why so many politicians and journalist are playing by the old rules. Instead of calling out Trump for his lies, journalist point to his “false” statements. Both politicians and journalist should constantly refer to Trump as a liar and a rapist. Trump’s got no problems attacking others, so why treat him with kid gloves? Fear?

Here’s how Trump’s lawsuits typically work. He files suit claiming outrageous damage, though sometimes he forgets to claim any damages, and he drops the suit before it gets to the discovery phase. He’s just a coward who uses the legal system to bully others.
It’s the legal system equivalent of throwing a rock at someone from far away and then fleeing.
I have the hunch that he’s really nervous about what’s coming out of the files, particularly the revelation that his DOJ was intentionally suppressing info damaging of him, and he’s trying to distract from that. Not because of legal jeopardy (I’m not sure that exists for him in this country anymore) but more his ego and potentially a midterm shellacking of his party, costing him power over the legislature.
Back in 2024, Trump was asked if he’d release the Epstein files whereupon he replied something along the lines of, “Probably not. There are innocent people in the files who did nothing wrong and it would be unfair to release their names.” I’ve never had any indication Trump cared about any other person other than himself, so I was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt there must be something in the files that embarrassed him. But that was also the same year I lost any hope that he’d ever suffer the consequences of his actions. He’ll suffer setbacks of course, but never the consequences.
…who cannot be everywhere at once. And, last I heard, still haven’t gotten paid.
He won’t get what he deserves, but it might still hurt him, and if it costs him the majority in the legislature it’s good for the country (and even the world). So these files aren’t unimportant.
