Anyone else looking forward to Morris being accused of child molestation?
Whoa. That wasn’t in the TV Times blurb!
I’ll be back tomorrow…
What the hell is Morris doing at a kids soccer game without being connected to a kid? :dubious: And he touched a child he’s not related too? I thought it’d be like when Carter was accused of being a pedophile for perming the heimlich maneuver on a little girl. Morris might as well run around screaming “I like to fuck little BOYS!” Fucking moron.
Well it is his son. Bio son anyway.
That was some awesome misplaced outrage alphaboi867.
I’ll admit - I was pretty confused too, but I figured he had to know the kid somehow. Uncle or something.
Yeah, nice twist. Though he’s still a moron for thinking he could get away with that. As for as everyone else (inlcuding the kid’s mothers) knew he’s a total stranger patting a kid on the ass. Doperparents; what would you do if a male complete stranger showed up at your kid’s game/play/recital and hugged your kid and patted him/her on the ass?
Although Morris has some biological kids, I seem to recall this kid is not his. IIRC, he was either dating or had dated the kid’s mother, and she died. I’m assuming he has now been adopted by someone else.
I liked this episode. Lots of frantic activity and near-disasters, and nobody died.
Sara Gilbert is way under-used.
Don’t care for Paula Malcomson’s character, but I guess I’m not supposed to. I’ve only seen her in three roles, and she’s been something of a bitch in all of them. But with that chin, maybe it’s in her genes. Is that not the quintessential stubborn chin?
How long before the daughter ends up in the ER? Or she meets Alex?
Did anyone recognize the actress who played the blonde lesbian mom?
That kid is his, genetically - there was an episode last year where 5 or 6 red-haired kids showed up at the ER looking for him. They were all products of artificial insemination by way of a sperm bank, and we learned Morris had ‘donated’ many times as a way of making money as a med student.
So… the problem with Gates is…
Gates can’t read, huh?
He must be quite an auditory learner…
That’s my guess, anyway!
But,
wasn’t he reading in the upstairs bedroom when his wife/girlfriend came up to ask him how he was doing, then he went over to the bookcase and started leafing through a pamphlet or something?
I also seriously doubt that
he could have made it through medical school if illiterate. His SO or a tutor might have done some reading aloud to him, but it would require multiple hours daily.
Plus there is reading required daily in medicine that cannot necessarily be done by somebody else. He would need to draw up medicines, especially when he was a paramedic (no nurse to do it) and you really need to readthe bottle to make sure you are giving what you think you are giving.
I’m not sure how much of an allowance ADA would make. It could possibly be compensated for if everyone was aware and helped him, but would be very difficult without putting patients at risk.
I think his problem with the charts is that he has not changed his mindset about documentation from the prehospital setting, where you document after the call, to the hospital setting, where you document as you go.
Of course, that is all assuming ER is attempting to have any semblance of accuracy at all any more.
Why the spoiler boxes? Because it’s speculation? I don’t understand.
Anyways, Gates probably gained much of his knowledge from hands-on experience, and TPTB are uncomfortable with anything that isn’t done by the book. He’s doing things that they haven’t taught him to do, and using things (like the rib spreader) for things that rib spreaders aren’t used for.
Maybe he’s dyslexic.
Based on what? Just because he dictates his charts? I didn’t get that idea at all - just that he had different ways of doing things and Pratt is a sorta likeable guy but he has a stick up his ass.
I don’t know. Jeeez. I was jumping on the “something’s got to be wrong with Gates” bandwagon. If there was something wrong I think dyslexia would be more plausible than illiteracy.
I’m waiting for everyone to just say, “Shut up Donny, you’re out of your element”
I’ll go now.
When come back bring pie!
I mostly meant that for everyone. I might well have missed something, but I didn’t see anything to suggest there was anything wrong with Gates.
Did anyone ever figure this out? She looked really familiar.
