ER 11/21/02 - fill me in, please (spoilers)

Couldn’t keep my eyes open last night - what happened in the second half? I saw up to Abby smoking a cigarette on the AF base.

I suggest you bookmark this site. It’ll take a few days, but they put up very thorough summaries, excellent reviews and even have doctors offering medical commentary.

Enjoy.

Abby went into the hospital to see her brother and received a shock when her mother walked up to her. Her brother is furious with her because he blames her for his arrest, and she’s furious with her mother because her mother isn’t doing more to make her son accept that he’s bipolar. (The brother insists he was just suffering from PTSD and not a manic episode.)
Carter was shanghaied into working another shift when Carrie couldn’t come to the hospital, but afterwards he surprised her in Omaha. The brother wants to be courtmartialled rather than receive an honorable discharge for mental illness.
Back at the ER: the transplant of one brothers heart/lungs into his younger brother was a success and Corday had a “bonding” moment with the boys’ father over his loss of a son and her loss of Mark. Don Cheadle’s character (name eludes me) noticed his Parkinson’s is spreading to his other hand and accidentally jabbed an instrument into the ear of a girl he was examining- it scared her but didn’t do any real damage, but it made him realize his limitations. Corday told him his real gift was in relating to patients, so there are hints he may go into psychiatry.
Nothing really with Luka, Weaver, or the other castmembers.

I loved it when Nathan brought out the video screen and let the girl put the otoscope in her own ear. He’d figured out how to keep doing his job.

And also when Corday told him what she put in his evaluation.

Don Cheadle is the best African American actor out there. I hope he gets his statues when it’s all said and done.

Did you ever see his performance as Sammy Davis, Jr., in THE RAT PACK? He was so good that I didn’t recognize him as the porn-star/electronics enthusiast from BOOGIE NIGHTS.

He breaks my heart in Boogie Nights, especially when he goes to the bank to get the loan. I was very down on Nathan before, when he kept meddling with patients, but last night his treatment of the little girl was A-plus. He has a great bedside manner when he’s not convincing terminal patients to get costly and dangerous transplants, or punching unruly guys on gurneys.

I want something very bad to happen to Erin. She’s far too spunky to be working in the angst-mill that is County General.

All I have to say is, “Ewwwww”. How did they do that bit at the end with the heart?

Sorry, I still have to post my vote for Morgan Freeman.
(sorry for the hijack)

I admit, I teared up at the father having to make such a quick decision to save his son, and Liz finally crying over Mark.

Imagine, you run inside your house to get a carrot for a snowman, you come back, and your family is lying in the snow, bleeding to death.

Parkinsons! That’s what it is! I suspected, but I somehow never actually HEARD them say it (I don’t watch the show much), so I wasn’t certain. Good to know. Good to know.

My SO can’t understand why I like ER. He thinks it “beeps too much” (literally - he hates the beeping noises in the ORs and stuff!) :I

What kind of guy doesn’t like beeping noises and flashing lights?

did they have to time to even tissue check the 2 brothers? They didn’t even mention doing it.

And it’s not on next week. WAAAAHHHH

:frowning:
